Havens Salvation 2-3

I have just posted the next segment of Havens Salvation. I am hoping that this is an original story not based on any others work. It is hard to know for sure beings I have read so many stories both here and in other circles but a extensive check of my memory I can not find any thing like this elsewhere.
I am trying to bring the characters alive for my audience giving the people you read about warm flesh and blood reactions to there environment and to each other. You my audience will be the final judge of that.

Katie and Arin move on

I was saddened to read that the famous se-change couple Katie Hill and Arin Andrews had parted. It was a wonderful story whilst it lasted of a boy who became a beautiful young woman and a pretty girl who became a handsome young guy. Having said that they are young and it shows how Katie has blossomed and is now very content and living as normal a life in university as other students. I often feel the younger generation is more accepting of situations and I hope Katie finds happiness and future success since she was very brave.

A different take on SRS

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

My wife of 47 years is currently fighting a re-occurance of malignant melanoma, which has metastasized to her brain. In order to combat it the Drs are going to try Brain Surgery. Thru all the discussion etc. they frequently referred to the procedure as SRS surgery. When we got home, wanting to know more about it, she Google d SRS, and was very amused to find that the only references to that she could find were to Sexual Reassignment Surgery, which she does not think she is a candidate for. She finally found it on a medical reference web site as Stereotaxic Radio-graphic Surgery.

Informal poll - which Op Rescue story was your favorite?

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

I know the reaction to Op Rescue: In Plain Sight has been very significant (judging by comments and kudos). That makes me wonder if the audience as a whole considers this better than, on par with, or less than Op Rescue: New Co-Ed. The main reason I ask is that while New Co-Ed has a lot of hits, it has few kudos. That makes me wonder if it was as good as my latest effort, or worse. Or is it an artifact of posting a link to a PDF file (as opposed to a 450+ page story in the form!) so the kudo button wasn't accessible? Was it because New Co-Ed was too long for most people's tastes?

So I sent in a story to amazon...4 weeks ago. No response yet other than the automated response letting me know they got the submission. I know supposedly they have 2 more weeks or so to go before I'm supposed to worry, but I can't help myself.

To add to this, a fan recently edited RiH 10. The editing job was very well done, very professional and I in no way mean to imply that I don't appreciate it. However the editing did make
clear the astonishing number of grammatical flaws inherent within my writing style... flaws I'm positive the story I submitted a month ago shares.

Christmas Fairy Queen

I read a story by Robyn Hoode over on TG Storytime called "Christmas Fairy Queen" which she claims to be not sufficiently good to be posted here. She's wrong and needs to be shown the error of her ways. This is definitely a BC level story. Let's raise a little bit of Cain here ladies,

I have to select my name from the list of who's online, or from the authors list, before I get the panel.

Just sayin'

Ma just called. It's past noon back home, but I guess she doesn't realize it's about 1:30 in the morning here. Sassafrassa...

She called to say we should postpone our delayed visit yet again as Winter Storm Ion is gonna be bringing extremely cold (dangerously cold, in fact) arctic air to most of the U.S. Northwest for the coming week.

Ma says the East Coast will not be too affected yet but it's best to stay put here in Manila.

Questions about a human hair braclet of all things

I've heard of jewelry and bracelets made from human hair before, but I have no actual experience with them. I know they were popular during the 18th (maybe 19th) century, but a lot of people have never even heard of them in these modern times. I don't ever intend to make such a thing or wear one, but I'm thinking of using one in my story. The tale itself is set in a dystopian future Earth where most of humanity has been enslaved by a malevolent race of aliens.

Well, I almost lost it in church yesterday. As part of the service, they allowed people to come up to the front, light a candle, and say something they are grateful for. Then, after the service I tried to explain what it meant to me that the church treats me like just another woman, and I almost lost it again ...

Lots of places in the States DID have really bad weather last week, so we thought that our decision was a good one, but Ma said that it was warm enough in DC the day before Christmas that Dad called it shirt-sleeves weather, and flights to and out of Raegan/National, Baltimore and Dulles weren't in danger of being canceled anytime soon..

Well, color me chagrined.

For more than 40 years my wife and I have been trying to figure out the name of a movie we had seen on late night television in Little Rock in the late 60s.. One of the stations stayed on all night. That was a big thing then. After the last late night show was over, they'd play old movies. This was before we started going together. There was a particular movie that we saw several times. It had a music theme that was built around a piano concerto. It may have been Rachmaninoff or Grieg.

Nina Kiriki Hoffman’s sequence of novels A Red Heart of Memories (1999), Past the Size of Dreaming (2001), and A Stir of Bones (2003) may be of interest to this site’s readers for one major transgendered character, who is onstage in Past the Size of Dreaming and A Stir of Bones and appears in flashbacks in in A Red Heart of Memories. Several other characters are more or less atypical in their gender identity and presentation. Hoffman has also written a number of short stories about the characters from these books, some but not all of which are in her short story collection Permeable Borders.

My idea cupboard is getting bare

Well, after being one of the most prolific writers on here for the last four and a half years, I am facing the real possibility that my ideas cupboard is growing close to bare. Maybe all my brainpower is wrapped in my autobiography, but its possible that outside of a few crumbs that I might be able to bring to life, my days as a writer are numbered ...

If that occurs, I want my friends to know I will continue to contribute in other ways. I will comment and encourage other authors, and I will keep my blog going with whatever is happening in my life.

Yay! First Review!

I got my first review for my book up at Kindle, 'Heroes of Justice.' It was mostly positive with the reviewer giving me four stars. Apparently despite all the people who have looked it over, mistakes have still persisted. That's annoying since I think at times I can recite the whole book given how many times I've gone over it.

On a humorous note, the review claims to have bought it accidentally because of Amazon's 'One-Click' Button.

However, one review is better than no review!
