I look to where they are coming from and really these things are scary as hell especially when you think about the sheer size of something ten feet tall yeah like another two feet over the ceilings in most houses then add it the bulk…add huge muscles, fangs and tusks and armor and huge weapons and make them pretty damned fast and it’s a really scary sight.

There’s people opening fire on them and most of the spell weapon attacks are barely slowing them down.

She had fainted and was slowly woken up with her mother shaking her gently. “Emily? Emily wake up you fainted.”

“I did?”

“Yes, you did.”

“I had the worst dream Mom.”

“It wasn’t a dream.” Her mother had this strange almost foreboding finality there in her voice.

“Mom?”

“You eavesdropped on me and the doctor and then you looked what we were talking about on Google.”

“But it’s not true right?”

“We haven’t got the DNA tests back those will take awhile but everything else says yes.”

“But it’s still not true, c’mon!”

I awakened... fully alert, although not certain exactly why. My brain was firing on twelve of its eight cylinders and the turbo boost was well engaged, as it attempted to make sense of the shadows which my semi-focused eyes were saying were dangerous unknowns looming all about me in our dark bedroom. My ears began straining to hear whatever it was that might have been that which had awakened me. It’s hard to believe how sinister a dark room seems when you can’t really focus on anything due to the near absence of light. You’d think that after sleeping for at least a few hours your eyes would be accustomed to the lack of light and you should be able to see, if not well then at least somewhat upon immediately opening them.

The next morning, the sun was shining, but the temperature was like twenty degrees above zero. It was cold, so it called for warm clothes. I got out of bed, and looked through my dresser, and took out my jeans that had flowers on the back pockets, and my lingerie. I also took out a pair of knee high double knit socks. I went to my closet and got out my powder pink Angora sweater, and my insulated show boots.

The night air was humid but still much cooler than it had been during the day. For the team of men this was best. They were all dressed in black from head to toe including their faces which had the coal black matte finish of a professional.

They enclosed on the location of their target with stealth. This was not easy as the target in question lived in a townhouse apartment surrounded by many other townhouse apartments all of which belonged to people who lived in the lower end of income. These people usually were up and about at all times of day or night.

I just sit there like that with Rayne for a while just being us and taking that time to soak in the world and love that I’m leaning on her and love this place that we’re at right now. I love the effect it’s having on her, I can literally feel her decompressing and unwinding. I get that. I think it’s easy to get, just try and think when the last time you sat, just sat outside with a coffee or a tea and just spend thirty minutes to yourself.
