Michele is about to blackmailed by CPO Latham, Po Knocker White and her old lover/nemesis, Spike Jones but she turns the tables on them. She makes them a better offer. She and her Betty's will operate a secret bar and 'knocking shop' on board the ship during the forthcoming 7 month deployment and they all share the proceeds.

Once more, the pattern of my days was set by lists, names and club numbers, as we called criminal records. As with one nightmare of a prison visit, the pattern of offending seemed to be clear, just--- thankfully--- nowhere near as extreme. Chapter Ten – Sea Daddies and Sea Mommies

Michael Nyland graduates from recruit school and qualifies as an Able Seaman Writer and is posted to the Royal Navy flagship, the aircraft carrier Ark Royal. He settles into his duties and has put 'Michele' and the Barrack Room Bettys behind him. But Michele's past is not easy to escape, even at sea.

My name is Kevin Jackson. I am the third man in my family to carry that name. It used to mean something on this ship, but it doesn't hold much weight anymore. My grandfather was the President of Security, my father had a doctorate in human physiology and was the Vice President of Operations. I, on the other hand, simply work the cash register at Main Street Electronics.

Moment of truth. I'm in the hospital's cybercafe. It's three am so I have the place to myself and I'm about to do what I've been putting off since Michael told me the secret, or at least, what he claimed was the secret. I google 'Marcus Julius Naso', the name Michael told me was mine. .

Then I look at my search results and shudder. I attempted to usurp the throne of the Roman Empire before being assassinated in 407 AD? Oh, wait, that's the wrong Marcus Julius Naso!

Chapter Nine – Pink Pussycats
