Rain stopped play!

well i guess it couldn't last!

Yup, after a run of okay-ish days, Monday went a bit Pete Tong (IYKYK). I had always intended making Monday a non bike day and with a forecast of lunchtime dampness combined with strong winds, i decided a short walk would be more appropriate. It ran to almost 6km in the end, a short loop from the house into Derbyshire and back, returning just ahead of the damp.

I've been effectively 'house sitting' for the last week but my bro returned home late evening so i at least had some one to talk to! I would've like to have gone for a ride on Tuesday but with more rain forecast and stuff to sort out at the flat my exercise ended up being a short walk for food supplies to cook our tea, a slightly insipid bolognese, i tried but without even the basics of salt and pepper it was never going to be great.

And more wet put the kybosh on a long ride today too, we ended up going to the supermarket this morning before sorting out more stuff at the house before lil bro headed off for work. By this time it was gone three but the sun was out so i set off for a little spin, exploring some local roads i've spent 45 years not travelling! A mere 36km but of that almost 19km were new to me and 450m of climbing meant it was no picnic!

Hopefully i can get in a good ride tomorrow, we'll have to see i guess. Friday though i am off to Leeds to see my kidlings come rain or shine, its looking dry atm, fingers crossed!
