Love and pom poms

I was at my local library looking for more reading material, and came across a graphic novel called "love and pom poms" its about 2 girls in high school. they once had been close, but drifted apart as the one became more of a computer nerd while the other joined the cheerleader squad.

Then them budding computer programmer was told to get a scholarship she needed to try out for the cheerleaders. To her surprise, her friend helps her make the team, and we learn her friend is in fact trans. She tells her friend she feels like she has to be a perfect girl, or her parents will decide her transition is a distraction to her schooling.

Its a cute little book, and it gets better when the two girls become a couple . . .

anyway, I can recommend it
