A question for non-British readers
In the UK, we use a special symbol to represent the British pound (monetary, not weight), shown here. ![]()
The symbol has an ASCII character and is produced on UK keyboards by pressing Shift 3, and is used in the same way as the dollar sign, to represent a monetary sum eg £10.
My question is, on the line above, do non-British readers correctly see the pound symbol before the 10 (ie similar to the picture at the top), or do they see something entirely different?
