After Talia had fully recovered from the last assignment, she was on. She and Chasity started working on finding the seven-year-old who was missing.
“So, Talia, how are you enjoying being a private investigator?” Chasity glances at Talia as they head towards the house from which the seven-year-old girl disappeared.
They had already gone to the private school that the girl went to, and were shown footage of the girl being picked up by her mother. It wasn’t until the girl had gotten home that she disappeared.
“I can do without some of the things that happened to me.” Talia was still overcoming what happened to her.
“Not all our jobs are like that, but I know how you feel.” Chasity didn’t like what she was made to do either.
The neighborhood the girl lived in was nice and had a bunch of high-end homes. Most of them had some sort of security. Talia spotted one house that had a weird security system mounted on a pole and pointed towards the driveway. She snaps a picture of it and will ask her father about it.
As they walk towards the house, Talia figures she’ll let Chasity take the lead, while she looks around. Talia stands quietly next to Chasity as they ring the doorbell. Talia noticed that the house had hidden security cameras that monitored the door.
The door opens, and a woman in her forties stands on the other side. The woman looked like she had been crying and worrying. Chasity introduces them, and they head inside.
While Chasity talks to the woman, Talia walks around the house, taking it in. She goes into the little girl’s room and examines everything in there. She noticed the girl’s window was open and climbed out of it.
She looks down and locates some tracks. She wonders why the police didn’t bother following them. While Chasity was inside talking with the mother. She follows the tracks towards some woods. Her father taught her how to track game, even though she wasn’t into hunting like her brothers were.
The tracks looked like they belonged to a grown man. She continued to follow them and finally came across the girl’s body. The poor thing had been sexually assaulted, and it looked like her attacker tried to silt her throat, but she was still alive.
Talia called 911 and informed them about the girl and her location. After she gets off the phone with 911. She calls Chasity and lets her know where she is and that she found the girl. She also warns her to keep the mother away from her location.
Several police cars and a medical helicopter show up to transfer the girl. Talia helped the paramedics and got some blood on her clothes. The paramedics weren’t sure if the girl was going to live. If she hadn’t found the girl when she did, she might have died.
Chasity looks at Talia, “How did you know she was back here?”
“I followed the tracks outside her window. I don’t know how the police missed them.” Talia couldn’t believe how the police missed the tracks.
“Well, it's good you thought to look. Let’s get back and inform Mr. Garcia.” Chasity knew they still had more to do, but thankfully, they found the little girl. Now they needed to find the man responsible for kidnapping and trying to kill her.
