The Coffee Bean:
Vickie couldn’t believe she got hired at the coffee bean. Every place she has applied at turned her down either because of how colorful her hair looked or because she didn’t have enough experience for the job. The worst blow came when she was turned down to flip burgers at McDonald’s. The manager said she was too qualified.
That had puzzled her, because how could you be to over qualified to flip a meat patty? When she looked towards Mrs. Bounty, she noticed she had several hickeys on her neck. She wonders if Mrs. Bounty’s wives did that to her.
Vickie takes the next coffee order and makes it like the customer wanted it. As she finished that order, she had three more, and they wanted the pastries they sold added to the order. When noon time arrived, the crowd had thinned out.
Amy turns towards her new hire, “Go ahead and take your thirty-minute break, Vickie.”
“Thanks, Mrs. Bounty.”
“You’re welcome. Here..” Amy hands Vickie a fifty-dollar bill.
Vickie looks at it and then Mrs. Bounty “What is that for?”
“It’s for you to buy lunch all week.” Amy knew what it was like to start off the work week and not have any money for lunches.
Vickie accepts the money. She has never known any employer who would do something like this. She clocks out and makes a coffee for herself. She pays for the pastries she wanted to try. Her coffee was free, since she was an employee.
Debbie enters the coffee shop and immediately has eyes on her. Most of the women are wondering who this woman is with her tits sticking out like torpedoes. She was dressed like she just stepped out of the fifties.
A slight smile appears on Debbie’s face at the attention she was getting. She knew how she looked and how her blouse emphasized her chest area. She recently had her medication updated, and now her breasts are getting bigger. The new hormones she was on were changing her body even more.
Debbie walks up to the counter to place her order. Just as she was about to inform the barista what she wanted. She hears Amy’s voice, “I got this, Betty.”
“Back in town?” Amy already knew what type of coffee Debbie liked and what size she enjoyed, too.
“Yes, but this time I’m back for a while.” Debbie was informed that her troupe was taking a six-month break.
“How long this time?” Amy didn’t mind Debbie being back. She was their roommate and always paid them right away.
“Six months.”
“Well, you know you're welcome to come up here and help out. You’ll get your coffee for free.” A playful smile appears on Amy’s face.
A smirk appears on Debbie’s face. She had a few interviews for some commercials.
“Thanks, I have some things I need to do, but I’ll keep your offer in mind.” Debbie knew Amy wouldn’t be disappointed.
Amy hands Debbie her coffee and favorite pastry. “Here you go, I got you covered.”
“Thanks, Amy.” Debbie walks over to a corner table and sits down.
Vickie comes running into the shop and over to Amy, “ICE is outside arresting people.”
Amy pulls out her cell phone and presses one of the preprogrammed buttons. On the second ring, the call is answered, “Alpha Security Command.”
“Yes, this is Amy Bounty. I need a security team sent to The Coffee Bean.”
“What’s the problem, Mrs. Bounty?” Clare knew whenever one of the Bounty family members called, they are to respond right away.
“There are ICE agents in my neighborhood, and they are scaring my customers.”
“Are they heading down towards your store, Mrs. Bounty?” Clare knew technically there wasn’t much they could do except block them from entering Mrs. Bounty’s shop or defend her if they tried apprehending her or her patrons.
“Let me check.” Amy walks over towards the door and notices several ICE agents walking into stores.
“Yes, they are heading this way.”
“Lock your doors, and we’ll have someone there as quickly as possible.”
“Thank you.” Amy ends the call and turns to face everyone in the shop.
“Everyone, please remain calm. ICE agents are heading towards this store. I’m going to lock the door to keep them out. This is a safe spot, and I won’t let anyone come in here and hurt any of you.”
Amy walks over to the front door and locks it. She switches the sign to closed. She turns around and looks towards Larry, “Lock the back door, Larry.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Larry moves to lock the back door.
Amy hears knocking on the shop’s door. She walks over to the door. “Can I help you?”
“We have a warrant to inspect your business. Unlock the door.” Agent Harrison was looking at a young woman on the other side of the door.
“Show me the warrant?” Amy knew what the law could and couldn’t do, even for federal agents.
“I don’t have to show you the warrant. Now open the door.” Agent Harrison tries pulling on the door handle.
“Sorry, but no warrant, no entry.” Amy stood in front of the door.
“Either open this door or I’m going to break it.” Agent Harrison didn’t like the fact that the small woman was defining him.
“Go ahead, I will warn you that you are being recorded, right, and it’s a live feed.” Amy had seen several of her patrons recording.
Agent Harrison tried breaking the glass door, but couldn’t. He tries again, and the same thing happens. He tried prying open the door and couldn’t budge it.
A loud voice from the ICE agents gets their attention: “STOP TRYING TO BREAK INTO THAT SHOP!”
Several agents turn around and spot at least six men and women dressed in full-fledged body armor. They were all armed with the new XM-29
rifles. The rifle hadn’t even been given to the army yet, to replace the M16.
“Who are you to give us orders?” Agent Harrison turns around and walks up to the huge man, who puts him to shame.
“Captain Jones of Alpha Security Command, and you will stand down, or we’ll be forced to physically remove you from the property.” He looks down at Agent Harrison.
“You don’t tell us what to do.”
“We do when you threaten a member of the Bounty family. Also, let's see the warrant.” Sergeant Howell looks at the ICE agent. She was the legal expert on the team.
“Like I told the young woman. We don’t need a warrant to search inside.” Agent Harrison looked at the Asian looking woman and was disgusted that he had to deal with her.
“Well, unless you have a warrant to search that establishment, you’re not going inside.” Captain Jones ordered his people to spread out and surround the ICE agents.
