DHS Federal Building, Downtown Los Angeles, California:
Agents Wells and Carmen look at all the electronics that were taken from the Bounty resident. They were informed by the agent in charge that they were to recover everything on the hard drives or if it was in the cloud. They wanted access to their personal accounts in the cloud.
Agent Wells started with the Fire Tablets first and managed to crack the password for those accounts without any problem. What they found was their favorite music and reading material. Even emails that were sent back and forth, but nothing that would be of any use, Agent Wells was told to record everything.
Agent Carmen tries to break into the cellphones. The one belonging to Debbie Colin was easy to break into, and she managed to recover everything on the phone. Which wasn’t that important, but she did what she was told. She even managed to crack the password protecting Debbie’s laptop and tablet.
Agent Wells tries to break into Arabella’s cell phone. After three tries, little wisps of smoke pour out of the cell phone. Agent Wells couldn’t believe what happened. He tries Jenny’s cellphone, and after the third try, smoke erupts out of her cellphone.
Agent Carmen looks over towards Wells, “You better be careful, or Agent Thornton is going to have your ass.”
“The dam things are booby traps.” Wells couldn’t believe that these women were smart enough to booby-trap their cellphones.
He moves over to the desktop computers and hooks them up. He makes sure to put a Faraday cage around them to prevent any signals from leaving or coming in. He goes to turn the first computer on and is greeted by an angry wolf face on the screen.
He notices that it was asking for a password. He plugs a portable drive into the computer and tries to use the password-cracking software on the computer. Just as the program starts working, the speed of the hard drive increases, and smoke starts coming out of it. The wolf on the screen growls.
“Dam! That was my best hard drive.” Agent Wells tries to bypass the boot-up process, but the motherboard is locked.
Agent Carmen looked over and saw how difficult the computer was being. She wonders who this person was.
“I can’t crack this computer.” Wells was doing everything he knew to break into the hard drives.
He couldn’t get past the screen that had the wolf's face on it, and every time he fell, the growling from the wolf got louder and louder.
“Here, let me try something.” Agent Carmen tries to bypass the boot screen but fails. The wolf on the screen disappears, and a ten-second countdown appears.
All the electronic locks in the room, lock, and the lights start getting brighter.
“What the hell is happening?” Agent Wells and Agent Carmen look around their lab and notice that all their electronics are being taken over.
“How the hell is this computer doing this?” Agent Carmen was trying everything to stop it.
“Pull the plug!” Agent Wells has seen something like this once on an NCIS episode, but didn’t think it was possible.
Agent Carmen yanks the power cord from the wall socket. However, the process didn’t stop. The lights kept getting brighter and brighter. All the electronics in the lab start exploding.
The two agents take cover under their workbench as all their electronics explode around them. As for Arabella’s desktop, it explodes. It triggered the laptops and the house computer to activate and to explode as well.
The fire alarms were blaring throughout the building, and the sprinkler systems were triggered as well. The main computer in the building locked everyone out, and all their files were uploaded to a secure account. Agents were running out of the building. All their cellphones and tablets had been infected with the virus that the desktop sent out.
It showed a laughing wolf face on the screen.
Back At Gina’s House:
Gina receives an email informing her that information was being uploaded to the computers at the Phoenix Foundation. She reads the email and wonders who did that. Then it dawns on her, “Arabella Marie Bounty, get in here.”
Arabella hears her mother calling her by her full name. She wonders why her mother used her full name.
“You called, Mom?” Arabella walks into her mother’s home office.
“Can you explain this, young lady?” Gina shows Arabella the email she received.
A smile appears on Arabella’s face. She looks at her mother, “Someone at ICE tried breaking into my desktop, Mom. If you enter the wrong password or try to break into the bios on the motherboard. It sends a signal out and takes over any electronics receiving power.”
“Okay, but why am I receiving information from the government?”
“Well, the program I designed is to take over their computer system. I figure I would take everything they have at the local office or wherever their current mainframe is located.”
“Wouldn’t they have some way to prevent that?” Gina knew if she worked for the government, she would prevent something like that from happening.
“Sure, but the dumb asses don’t realize when they are using my computer. It can send a signal through the power cord and take over any nearby electronic device.”
“Can’t they trace where the signal went?” Gina had to admit her daughter was playing dirty.
“Nope, it's impossible to trace a signal that can jump from computer network to network.” Arabella had to thank Morgana for the help she gave her.
Gina shakes her head back and forth. She had a smile on her face, “You have too much of your grandfather in you.”
“Thanks, mom.” Arabella turns and goes back to ordering new devices for them.
