Memories of My Brother

My brother is slowly losing his memories, so I thought I would save a few that we share

1: When we moved to Calgary from Germany, the first place we lived in had a basement, and we had a ping pong table down there. Very quickly, Mike became quite skilled, to the point we started thinking up handicaps so games between us could be slightly competitive.

2: When Mike came home from the Christian camp having converted, I witnessed first hand the dramatic change. He had gone to the camp angry, and came home at peace. I vowed to find out what he had gained, and get some for myself, and thus became a Christian as well.

3: As kids, Mike was my protector, and I needed one. My inability to keep my mouth shut got me into trouble often, and he felt obligated to keep me from getting too hurt.

4: Mike is a talented musician, as he proved when he wrote a song for my wedding, and played it as Sharon walked down the aisle.

5: Mike saved my life in Denver. I had lost my temper, and went after Ken with an axe, but he stopped me. And when I had dropped the axe, and Ken picked it up about to swing at me, Mike drop-kicked him.

6: When we first moved to Edmonton, Mike and I took a walk, and found a plushie bull - and he proceeded to make a bunch of bull related puns till my sides ached from laughing.

9: When I blew up my marriage and put our home in danger of being repossessed, Mike and Carol stepped up to help me straighten out the mess.

10: When Mom and I couldn't find a place to live, Mike and Carol took us in

Honestly, even though I don't have his disease, I cant even remember all the times he has been there for me. But I wanted to share a few of them while both of us could remember .
