Sorry everyone but after my next posting I won't be posting stories for the next few weeks. My Husband of 30 yrs Paul E. Hackney passed away from Chronic heart disease on Feb 1, 2026 shortly after midnight. Do not weep for him because he lived his life the way he flew his beloved airplanes. Fast and hard with the throttles pushed to the stops. Please take time to find Letter to a Loved One and read. As for when I will be posting again it won't be for a few weeks. At least not until after I have mourned and sat Shiva and Shloshim as is customary for Paull's faith.

Nothing I can say will express…..
How much I wish I could lessen your grief.
I know what it is to lose those who you care about, those you love - I have lost those who were closer than blood; those with whom I have shared blood. I have lost too many friends, seen too many funerals, folded too many flags, and stood dooly by too many graves. But even with all that, to lose one’s soul mate is something which I cannot fathom. You have my deepest sympathies, and I can only make this simple heartfelt comment to express my condolences on your loss.
From your description of him, Paul is someone I wish that I had known, someone with whom I would have enjoyed sharing a glass or two. It is apparent that the world will be a lesser place without him in it.
You will be in my thoughts and my prayers - for even though I have lost my faith, I still pray that there is a better place for us all.

I lost my wife of 50 years last November, so I can sympathize. It hurts, you feel empty and lost. But you keep on keeping on. I'm told it gets easier as you adjust to them not being with you. Be safe.
