As a democratic socialist (though my uncle argues I'm closer to libertarian), it's kinda hard to find ANY political leaders who actually have policies that consistently match what I feel would be best for the American people, and even harder to find ones who I think are telling even the slightest bit of truth.
Besides, my choices even then would still get on a lot of people's nerves. After all, I STILL think keeping Obama in office was the best of a bad situation during the last presidential election, so that alone would make me pretty unpopular. My continued belief that, though not perfect, our new socialized healthcare plan is at least a step in the right direction would probably get me lynched in most places as well.
*shrug*
Politics, it gives me a headache.

I love people who complain about the heathcare and things like it when they send their children to public schools. That is a goverment run instation just like the police.

In a lot of cases the only alternatives are homeschooling or a religious school that you may not agree with and you are still stuck with paying for the public school. Although while I was in high school there was a subdivision that sent a large portion of the students to a Catholic school, despite the families not being Catholic, the other choice was a fairly violent inner city school.

Unfortunately, most of the sorry SOBs are going to win. These next two years are going to be worse than the previous. Maybe we'll learn by disaster.

In Virginia in the last general election, the attorney general was elected on 167 votes out of over 250,000 cast. They only listen to you on election day, other than that it is business as usual. Get out an be heard!

The problem for me is it seems a lot of the time to be choice between bad or worse, or I really don't know who is worse. On top of which I feel like most of them are liars and I do not believe what they are saying. When they are not saying something that is circular and meaningless that is, which is a lot of the time.
When I have gone to vote I pretty much ended up not voting in the voting booth. I feel like I am just flipping a coin when I do. The only time I seem to have clear choice is when I absolutely hate someone.
I just feel lost, and like I am somehow making matters worse when I vote.

Yes there is a international presence on this site but there is also a lot of American's on this site. I agree with the poster if you chose not to vote you chose not to complain. I personally did not vote because I did not keep up with the issues or the stances of people so since I could not make informed decision I did not. So I cannot complain about anything that comes from this election. That is fine with I am not a fan of politics to began with. Who wants anything to do with many blood sucking creatures.

election results, i do not believe i (we) got the government i (we) deserve. i fear for those
