I've been hunting for a story that I read years ago, possibly around 15 years ago - geez, I'm getting old....

I'm not sure exactly where the story was hosted, possibly cyoc or fictionmania as I frequented those often at the time.

The premise of the story was a group of teens (2/3 of them I think) get some sort of special powers - each of them different. I know that the boy had the power to shapeshift into other people, but required a photo or physically seeing them to do so. By the end of the story the boy can transform into the girl without these requirements, as the plot required him to often become her, i.e. he got a lot of practice.

From what i remember the boy was embarrassed about his power so didn't tell anyone else about it.

I think as a far as I read, quite possibly the end of the story, had the boy (disguised as the girl) having to knock on a neighbours door to right a wrong, and the girl oversaw his powers in action.

I'll keep hunting for this in the meantime, but I appreciate if anyone if able to assist or point me in the right direction.
