Fractured Rune just hit 50 orders since its January 20 release. Five. Zero. That may not sound like much in a world where bestseller lists exist and algorithms demand blood sacrifices, but in indie author land this is A Thing. This is fifty real humans who saw a queer, anti-theocratic, mildly unhinged epic fantasy and went, “Yes. That one. I will put this in my brain.” I am vibrating at a frequency normally reserved for malfunctioning machinery.
If you bought it, read it, recommended it to a friend like a literary cryptid whispering in the dark, or quietly downloaded it and vanished into the mist like the Bograz himself, thank you. Truly. You are the reason this book exists outside my hard drive. Every single order feels wildly personal, like someone walked into my house, pointed at my feelings, and said, “I’ll take those.”
And now that this strange, lovely little milestone has been achieved, I am feral with anticipation to share Book 2. It is meaner. More political. The gods are still awful. The consequences are louder. I cannot wait to throw it at you lovingly. Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading. Onward we go.

Not a bad start for a niche story
LGBTQ is a specialty category in literature.
Add fantasy/magic to that and the potential readership is less.
A pity as your tales are addictive reads, at least for me.
I wish you every success with your sales.
And condolences again on your lost love.

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement. Just to clarify, if you’re referring to a post I made yesterday on social media, I wasn’t talking about a specific loss, only about being single and lonely.

Well done
Well done, Daniela - and best wishes for continued success! Between persecution of trans folks, the rise of AI slop and a mixture of demographic factors (many readers of TG fiction appear to be ageing out; younger ones get their TG in different ways) the market is shrinking... but selling books remains a neat way to keep score. Fifty orders is not to be sneezed at. I hope your customers are also writing reviews!

Thank you
Thank you, I really appreciate that.
If I’m being honest, my writing has shifted quite a lot since I transitioned. I’ve moved away from some of the older TG wish-fulfillment stories and toward work that’s meant to resonate more with modern queer audiences. It’s very queer and very trans, but grounded in a broader fantasy narrative. The story isn’t about a hapless person transformed against their will, but about a trans woman embracing who she was always meant to be while getting swept up in a broader narrative.
And yes, fingers crossed on the reviews. I actually got another one just yesterday. Selling books is nice, but hearing that the story genuinely landed with someone matters more to me. I love knowing it resonates with people.
