Funds Needed - end-month bills

Ad revenue down, expenses up. We need more revenue. We're stepping up book production, which will help, and thanks to everyone buying our books!

But we depend a great deal on contributions from our community to meet the expenses of the site and phone and internet access for each of us.

If you can help, please do. It's greatly appreciated.

Hugs,
Erin

Many thanks!

This is the same story that's been in the Hatbox for some time, now released with new editing and a new cover on Amazon. The story of Jake and Cody, friends--and Freds--for a lifetime. See story for joke about the Freds.

The Last Holidays

Story Blurb

I have spent the last few weeks doing some major editing and revisions to my Costumes story. I think I'm close to being ready to publish it. Yeah, I know, I wrote it 15 years ago. I still view it as one of my strongest stories, so maybe a good one to be my first book to publish. I need your help. One of the things I've always struggled with is selling a story. You know, writing that blurb that appears on the BCTS front page or on an Amazon web site to convince a person they want to buy this book. Tell me what you think of this blurb.

Lately

I realise that in the last few years, my upload schedule has been, to put it bluntly, crap. This is despite the fact that I have no fewer than 21 chapters in the backlog that need editing but are otherwise ready to go. The reason I haven't, well, edited them is due to a lack of free time.

Duplicate post

I've double posted The Magician's Daughter - Chapter 20. Can one of the lovely administrators of the site remove the doppelganger?

I got a 503 Backend fetch failed message the first time so I saved again. To my surprise it got posted twice. Twice is usually nice but not in this instance.

Thanks for your expeditious response!

Sammy

Toni With An i - Publishing Update

Here's a little update about Toni With An i and when Toni can be expected to be seen again. I've been crazy with house move stuff. What I expected to take me three months has actually taken me fifteen months, and it's just now I've gotten my writing setup somewhat tolerable again. There's still a huge amount of work to be done, and it's really stretched my finances, and energy, meaning a lot less time to write.

End of Month crunch

We have mondy coming in Friday but money going out today and tomorrow.

Personal reserves are rockbottom so we have to hope we don't need them.

Ad revenue is way down, expenses are up. We need more revenue. We're stepping up book production, which will help, and thanks to everyone buying our books!

But we depend a great deal on contributions from our community to meet the expenses of the site, phone and internet access for each of us.

In the past year, Melanie and I have put more than $5,000 dollars of our own money into keeping BC operating. We can't keep doing this.

If you can help, please do. It's greatly appreciated.

Hugs,
Erin

Fell

Fell in the kitchen and gashed my right arm on the oven door. I'm okay, just knocked a big flap of skin loose over my elbow. Got it taped and bandaged at urgent care. I'll be fine in six or ten days, and it shouldn't affect anything here.

Joyce

I posted a 10 508 word story. Slightly longer than usual

I usually don't post long stories. The only other story longer than 10 000 words was a special experiment.

I occasionally post sequels but those are conceived separately.

The cereal was just my way of having fun with you. All 8 parts together was shorter than most stand-alone stories here.

Now I wrote a 10 508 word story. I posted in two partes.

Part 1 uou can finde here: Just an Ordinary Boy part 1

The Magician's Daughter - Chapter 17

A thousand apologies, my dear readers!

Due to the effects of old age starting to manifest, a brain fart on my part caused me to post The Magician's Daughter out of sequence. Thanks to samquick and Lindsay who alerted me of my dreadful error!

I have just put up Chapter 17 so, if you're interested, you can read that at your leisure. It's rather annoying to me that I skipped over Chapter 17 since it does have some important elements that move the story toward its denouement.

Chapter 19 will be posted next Monday as pro forma. I promise!

Victoria Peltior's Appearance

I've been doing research (never a guarantee of safety) and think I have found a good reference for Vic's facial appearance. It's the Circassian in the bottom row, second from the left: https://tinyurl.com/pjpp6wu5

Vic is a bit darker and a bit more Asian looking, but that's pretty close.

The shape of things.

Two things to announce:

1) Postings of Webs We Weave will become more infrequent. They'll get done when they get done.

2) Once Webs We Weave is finished, I won't be posting any more chapters or books in the Starforged Sagas unless there is vested interest.

Next story idea Help

Hey peeps.

I'm almost finished with Mud Creek. I'm planning out my next story.

I want to write something more "down and dirty" but also something a bit more "supernatural"

I want to use 1994 Mud Creek as the setting. So same old Southern Illinois town.

I'm inspired by the White Wolf games I dabbled with in high school, Especially Mage The Ascension

It's about two college buddies getting into the world of Occult and biting off more then they can chew. One thing I can't decide. Is the magic real or is it all a ruse?

short bit.

I, Author

Over the last few days, I've used three different AI programs to help me produce a 30,000-word novel in a second draft, so far. Anyone who would like to participate by beta-reading this revision before I complete a final revision this week, please PM me here on BC, and I will send a copy.

Payment Due

RE: Unfinished Projects:

Several years back, I started writing a story about a beautiful young transgirl who moves in with her wealthy "uncle" while attending art school. At first they get along fine, but then he begins demanding unusual "favors" in return for food and board:

Kind of Ironic...

As noted elsewhere, some of my fiction seems to generate a considerable degree of negative backlash. This is kind of ironic, since according to the stats, they're amongst the more popular of my stories (if views and kudos are anything to go by).

For those in Utah

For those of you in Utah, I’ll be at my first in-person author event tomorrow at Davis County Pride. If you’re around, feel free to stop by my booth and say hi.

In the spirit of that, I’ve put the ebook for Fractured Rune on sale for $4.99 for a bit. No pressure, just thought I’d share.

Full Moon Sneak Peak

 Harmonic Distortion

Something I'm working on sporadically. A little blurb about the book I've got sitting on the back burner:

Jason "Jace" McCormick has spent four years building something real — a band, a bus, a life that runs on music and loyalty and the quiet acceptance that punk and emo don't make stadium acts anymore. He's made peace with his ceiling. Mostly.
