Medical Update Part 2: Cautiously Optimistic Edition!

So I just got home from my Ophthalmologist's office, and we discussed multiple options for healing my cornea damage including two that would involve, as I had been expecting, literally clapping a membrane over my cornea and blinding me for a couple of weeks at a time. These treatments didn't work well for me before so I was reluctant but willing to try it.

After finding the same song on many different short video clips I wanted to find out more about the person behind the voice. It turns out there isn't a human being. It is all AI generated. Digging deeper turned up a lot of things about AI which I found fascinating and truthfully kinda worrying. It bothered me AI could be so good as a semi real person, could be generated in pictures, video, and voice. There is also a lot of legalities behind these false unreal persona. The most important one is they can't be copyright nor patented.

To anyone that follows my writing,

This year started out with a health scare that continued to get worse for me as time progressed. It’s been difficult to get creative when you’re worried if you even have another day or week.

Thank God for medical insurance because I would have been totally bankrupt after close to $300,000 spent so far on resolving my condition.

Long story short, my last round of COVID last year damaged my lungs and heart. Enough damage that my heart was close to total failure.

If you saw my previous blog post you know I've been on an unplanned medical leave because of my vision problems. Recovery is going extremely well. I'm almost back to 100% again. In fact, there's really only one reason I haven't started posting again quite yet. I have an appointment this month for an experimental treatment (hopefully!)

So this week's been a scheduling nightmare. I'm away from home for a couple of days, which meant Friday wasn't happening, and I'm not back until Saturday night. The earliest I could post was on Sunday. And on top of all that, Chapter 24 is absolutely kicking my ass.

Now I know a lot of you have been waiting for Chapter 9, and making you wait an extra two days just felt cruel and didn't sit right. So here it is... a day early.

I am currently reading/working my way through the Spearfish Lake Tales stories. There are 65 books with nearly 2100 chapters in total. Only about 8 or 9 books are NOT interrelated around the fictional north Michigan town of Spearfish Lake, as well as a few other near by fictional localities. The bulk of the tales cover the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, though there are retrospectives and flash-backs as far back as the late 1940s.

I did some cleanup of my writing folder recently. This included sorting my posted from unposted stories, and collecting the word counts of those stories. I now know as of Jody part 15 that these stories amount to 672,411 words.

I don't know what's occurring here, but I logged in hrtr to check for comments, and my last three submissions had all been wiped (Routes 58, Perspective 4, In the Green 16)

I've reloaded the stories, but this seems odd. Also wiped was everything between the title and the story body, such as 'author', but it left in place everything below that.

How odd.

I had a stroke 9 days ago. I am currently waiting for a bed in a rehab center and hoping they do not opt for our patient rehab.

I'm sorry this didn't go up yesterday. Friday was supposed to be posting day and then the rain arrived. No it wasn't "carry an umbrella" rain, but full apocalyptic, cats-and-dogs, the-sky-is-angry-at-you-personally rain. My internet took one look at it and clocked out for the day.

These last couple of weeks have honestly just been cursed. If fate were a person, I'd be leaving a strongly worded review. One star. Terrible service. Would not recommend.
