Hi There Everybody!
So, I've spent the week working on the server layout, and getting us more resilient than we have been for 2 years.
We are currently split amongst multiple virtual servers again, as well as being able to scale our resource usage and whether attacks (intentional or accidental) better than we have been in a while.
Right now, however.... We are prepping for Snow-Ma-Geddon.... And by prepping I mean I'm about to walk 5 blocks to the grocery store with a wagon to bring home groceries as all the shopping apps are booked solid and we need some basic supplies like milk and drinks. (we have bread, eggs and most the essentials because we've been shopping responsibly. I even have a pantry of boxed and canned goods so as long as we have power, I can feed us :)
I even have a small supply of foods we can and will be willing to consume if we don't have power.
That said, I have a limited amount of backup power available to us, and while we currently have 2 inbound network connections (One Cable and one Cellular) there is no guarantee they will both stay online through the storm.
The reason we are walking is because the Brakes on the Explorer need to get done, preferably without me having to drive over the bridge to get off the island...
So if it is possible, it would be nice to see a few extra donations to the hatbox because the .5 inches we were predicted to get at the beginning of the week, has become 12-20 inches with at least one forecast model (which is admittedly inaccurate for coastal forecasting) saying 40 inches. Because I have a feeling I'm going to be relying on delivery apps for a week or so...

Stay safe and warm
All of you. A bit extra "in the hat".

"Siege foods" and such to consider ...
==Stay safe==. Don't go out ... and then need rescue.
First, consider ==budget==, storage, =taste preferences= and similar; and expected duration of siege. Adjust as needed. Inventory what you have before (more) shopping ...
Don't overlook:
= white rice (I think brown has a 'shelf life' of about 6 months)
= flour and enough yeast (packets) for bread
= potatoes, white and sweet. I hear the skin on sweet potatoes is mechanically fragile, so handle with care. = =inspect before storing=.
= onions
= iodized salt (for long sieges)
= spices & condiments
= peanut butter and "J"
= canned goods, including canned fruits
= hygiene items
= Flashlights and batteries. =Never, ever= candles.
Did I say no candles ... ?

Ask 'the net' "What can I make with the X, Y, Z that I have?" ... Don't "insist" on a recipe that needs "one more ingredient" from store ...
