Most of my online purchases are through Amazon.
Tonight I saw something on Mark Zuckerberg and what I read surprised me. Apparently he is no friend to gender variant people.
I used to be a Facebook member and one day I got hate mail from someone at Facebook and suddenly, I am one of the enemy.
This is a great surprise.

Here's what I can add ...
(I simply have no info on the Big "Z", so I can't help. "Ask Google". And it's Jeff Bezos who runs Amazon.)
I have seen calls to boycott Amazon. Example (with reasons) here: https://thepeoplesunionusa.com/boycotts
I use Amazon so little that Prime membership is of little or no benefit. I've done some one-shot shipping via Prime. But the nuisance and worry I have about the trial membership turning permanent if I don't cancel in time ... This is just not worth it. "Peace of mind" is worth the shipping cost. And, my credit card does not go 'boingy-boingy'.
I'm just fine with (ab)using Amazon for product research. Then we maybe can bypass Amazon and order directly from maker or vendor. (This morning, I used Amazon's "look inside" or "preview" to check over a book, and then ordered book directly from publisher.)
Amazon
I use Amazon the same way. They are great for finding the product you are looking for. After that, a quick search on the product name gives you another place to buy it.
My problem with Amazon is the horror stories I hear about the way they treat their warehouse employees.

Facebook used to make a big
Facebook used to make a big deal about being inclusive and supportive of queer people. But last year Zuckerberg announced major changes: ending third-party fact-checking, loosening content moderation around topics like gender identity, rolling back DEI programs, and replacing fact-checks with a Community Notes system. The new rules even allow some anti-LGBTQ claims and hate speech that were previously banned. It was pretty disgusting.

When a service gives itself away as 'free' then you are the service.
We are such a minority that it seems like nobody fears getting in trouble for hating on us now.
I have never been on social media. It is a good thing.
Did you know that some countries (like the US) now checks a traveller out on social media before deciding whether to let them into their country?
Using Social Media is the equivalent of self-reporting yourself.
Why ?????????????????????????????
On-line abuse by tech giants
Here in Germany, with the help of price comparison websites, I have found Amazon to be average or higher in price in the vast majority of cases. Plus, Amazon only accepts credit card payment, while most other vendors will also accept bank transfer or debit card among other payment options.
On the other hand, Facebook has been hit with many lawsuits for violating data protection laws in the last few years. With damages awarded up to a low five figure amount in Euros. There have also been huge fines levied against Facebook for violating data protection laws in Europe.
