Seventeen years ago I found a home for this part of me who never really lived outside of my heart. Along the way I discovered purpose and a vitality I dared not live.

I have made so many friends. I gained sisters and even some brothers. I was blessed with daughters and nieces.

And along the way I gained solace and comfort through the most heartbreaking loss I will ever know as my beloved wife died suddenly. But not before she got to know many of your through your writing. And through that writing and your encouragement to me, she came to know and love this part of me. Reading about your realities helped her come to appreciate this reality of mine. For that and for so many acts of your kindness I am eternally grateful.

Thanks to Erin and all who endeavor to continue to make this place a haven for creativity and inspiration and encouragement. Thanks to all of you who continue to hold my hand. And to my besties who give me daily joy? You Are Such Girls.
