TL:DR up top - The Dead Pixel Society and Split Victory are on a temporary posting hiatus while I deal with a medical issue preventinme from comfortably spending much time at my computer. More details below for those interested :)

Let me start off by saying I'm not in any life threatening danger or anything like that. It's not dramatic, just extremely, deeply frustrating to deal with. For those of you who don't know me and my medical history, I am very, very legally blind, but I also suffer from an extremely rare degenerative cornea disease, literally 5 out of 10,000 or more called neurotrophic keratitis.

What this means practically speaking is that every once in awhile my vision suffers a complete and painful blowout (it basically feels like the worst ocular migraine yuou've ever experienced, without the accompanying nausea and other migraine symptoms, just extreme pain for about a day) and then total blindness for a couple of days, slow recovery of extremely blurred vision over the next two weeks (where I am now) and then, gradually, it gets back to something resembling "normal", as normal as my vision ever gets.

What this means practically is that I struggle to edit, format, and post, whether that's on TopShelf or even on social media, and screen use tends to aggravate and prolong recovery anyway so I spend as little time as possible looking at a screen. Short stints like posting this blog won't set me back, but if I were to, say, spend an hour editing a chapter and then posting it that would be mor eproblematic :)

I don't like using screen readers because I also have autism and ADHD, and frankly screen readers screaming at me every time my mouse twitches completely overwhelm my brain, and I just can't work with the damn things, so my only option is to wait until I'm more recovered to resume my posting schedule.
