Finally, I have my epic in (virtual) print. It is being published by BC in the original 7-book format and the first book is now on sale.
It is being done to help BC. If I had never come here this story would never have been written, never even been thought of. It is only BigCloset and the amazing readers and writers who come here who made Somewhere Else Entirely even possible.
For publication I have had to go through and make sure the text was suitable. That has inevitably meant minor changes. For those who have read SEE here then the published work will seem very familiar. Mostly I have fixed bad capitalizations, rogue English/US word differences and even caught a very small number of residual typos.
One thing that I noticed that I did in the original was to miss certain words out of a small number of sentences; of course, whenever I proof-read the thing my brain would automatically supply the missing words and I never noticed. This time around I'm being extra cautious, though I know that I'll never catch everything. No author, proof-reader or publisher ever does.
I have found one or two (so far) continuity problems. When I wrote the original SEE it was a work on its own, later of course it started spawning any number of side tales and keeping everything in step was a real time destroyer. That is the main point where seasoned readers may discover differences in the published version, since I will have to make everything stick to the agreed timeline. It shouldn't make a lot of difference to the flow of the story.
I am told that the books will be published on roughly a monthly basis but it would be wise not to assume specific dates. It is possible that other Anmar-related material will also be published later, but regrettably that will probably not include anything written by Julia Phillips since she is not around to give consent.
Having to do the extra diligence required for publication does mean a slowdown in writing anything else. I still have minor medical issues (I hope they are minor!) and there is much that needs to be done to the house before the bad weather sets in. I do what I can. In some respects I'm surprised that I'm still here at all but those are the breaks.
Enjoy the stories and keep encouraging our fellow authors. There is some really good stuff here on BigCloset.

And frankly, any book you buy at Amazon, (DopplerPress, AlephTwo, AzimuthZeon, Cabalho, or otherwise) deserves a review if you enjoyed the story!
