It was about a husband and wife, who were sailing around the world. They stop on an island, do a good deed, meet an old woman, who offers them both a wish. They wish for each others happiness.
They continue on their way, and slowly swap genders.

Sounds like one of miss dewinters wonderful tales. She had two that were similar but different. I think you want the first one of the two. The second is spell of the sorceress. I believe the first was live long and prosper try tigger-n-brandy.net her other two sites come and go as they were geocities to start and then reocities and then here and around.
