Hi — I'm Hadley.
I write transformation fiction about wanting, becoming, and the price of both. Most of my stories live in and around Blackwick University, an old New England school with older secrets, where the magic is real but never quite free, the founding families guard things they'd rather no one saw, and the people who end up changed are usually the ones brave enough to want something they were never supposed to have. A charm, a borrowed heirloom, a door on the old side of campus that won't be found twice — in Blackwick, a small bargain has a way of rewriting a whole life.
What I love to write is the slow build: the deniable first change, the moment it can't be denied anymore, and the quiet reckoning after. I'm drawn to morally complicated women, to the friends who'd give up more than they should for them, and to endings that cost something and are truer for it. Some of these tales are tender, some are colder, and a few are both at once — but I try never to take the easy way through a transformation, because the becoming is the whole point.
I post new stories when the work is ready and not before, so thank you for your patience between them. And thank you, sincerely, for reading at all — it means the world to find people who love these stories as much as I love telling them. If something here moves you, or unsettles you, or keeps you up past a chapter break, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. They're read, every one, and treasured.

Take care, and want bravely.
