Becoming Robin Book Two - Chapter 28
This chapter was fun with all of the martial arts.
May Your Light Forever Shine
May Your Light Forever Shine
Aand here's three cheers for Spirit! ^_^
Let's see, I really liked how Robin handled Deborah and the entire tournament, I was grinning like Kelly when the confession was made, and I so laughed when Robin tattletold and blabbermouthed the news to her BFFAEAE immediately afterwards! :D

I agree with this up untill
I agree with this up untill the part it confused me....BFFAEAE? I suck at abreviations all I got is Best Friends Forever. my mind blanked after that.
I used to be broken, I used to be lost. Unsure of what I was, until he found me...
Never be afraid to push yourself to new limits. While you might not see the path, you will be amazed at what you can achieve.
Erm
If I were to guess, I think Best Friends Forever And Ever And Ever.
Zoe?
Kim
Yup!
Took me a minute too, but "and ever and ever" most definitely fits ^_^
Correct
BFFAEAE is indeed Best Friends Forever And Ever And Ever. :)
I thought it fit very well for the group! ^_^

Like chocolate but with less calories!
Wow. Margie and Kelly sitting in a tree...
I'm pleased to see those two girls have found something in each other. It's a very natural pairing and provides Kelly with someone who already knows about her past.
The karate kid-esque kempo tournament was fun, though I prefer the first two movies over the third, and I was pleased that the lesson wasn't about just winning. That being said, Robin isn't that kind of girl anyway. And I always enjoy a good Pinky and the Brain reference too (Narf!), so you've kept this girl happy!
Y'know reading Becoming Robin has the same effect as several hours worth of relaxation after a long day. It's like chocolate but with less calories! ;-)
Great work, Zoe. You have a real talent for this sort of story.
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Well don't know about that
... Margie and Kelly now too? The sweetness factor is nearing the danger zone now. Step away ... Step away ... :)
Just glad that they have seen sense and have come over to the Dark Side. Oh yes, we will change you all girls to the right side yet! Bwaaahhhh Haaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaa ! At least those girls with any taste *sniff* ^_^
Another wonderful chapter in Robin aka Spirit's life. Now, all those emails, oh boy, hope she can keep her 'professional' life separate from her private one if she is gonna be an advice columnist. Now whose harebrained idea was that to have her do that again? Hmmmm
Thank Ms Sweetness!
Kim
Giggle
Oh yes. They will be ours ^_~
Allison, Jennifer, and Linda are of course very happily still interested in the opposite sex, but for Margie, she's just so open-minded (and just a little bit lonely) that dating Kelly made perfect sense.
Kelly's in the same situation, where she's not had a real, serious relationship with anyone since her senior prom. Things slowed down enough for her to really stop and think about dating again after she finished her nursing credintials. :-D
Ah yes, and I'm going to preface the next chapter with a sit-down with her laptop Strongbad-style before moving on to other things ;-)
Edit: Oh, right. This hasn't come up yet but there's also one member of Heedless Despair who's like-minded. I don't know if I'll reveal whom it is, but the thought crossed my mind since someone might be dropping in for a surprise visit soon. :-D
Yes, indeed! (Edit to clarify :-D)
Writing Robin is my therapy. The worse I feel, the more involved in narration I become when I write. The scene with Kelly at the start was originally not going to be there, but I wrote it RIGHT after what happened yesterday. :-)
Edit: Originally I commented that I would miss these regular postings of Robin, since Book Two is coming up on completion soon, but I'm actually undecided yet as to whether I'll write ahead of time like I did with Book One, or take the route I took with Book Two of writing as I go and interacting with commenters like this.
I'm kind of leaning toward the latter right now because you guys keep me on my toes. You see things I don't, and I feel like I'm becoming a better writer for it ^_^
Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that, quickly. In either case, I have tentative plans for the girls up through college, although that's going to involve a change of scenery and some possible drama. It's too soon to say anything for sure on that front. :-D
As usual, a great story!
Robin in a corset? There's an interesting image. I know you are3 going through some bad times, Zoe, but it doesn't reflect in the story. Very enjoyable! Sensei Ash seems so cool, and he is so proud of Robin. I wish my daughter was like Robin sometimes.
Margie and Kelly are a great match! I wonder ifI'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter!
Wren
All I shall say...
... is that I was originally going to gloss over the photo shoot and move on to the next big event in her life, but after that conversation played out in my head, it got me thinking about ways Nikki can hold her to that remark - with witnesses *grin*
Another great chapter in the saga that is Robin's life.
This story has been such a good read. I see so much of myself in these characters, especially Nikki. As mentioned before the hard times you're going thorugh at home right now don't carry over into your writing, and I hope that that helps you cope with that situation. I eagerly await the next chapter!

Margie & Kelly
Beleave it or not I kind of had a feeling those two were in too each other when they went out clubing :) a while back I just had that feeling. I'm glat that they are dating now and that Robin & Nikie gave them the idea why not they are best friends but also there was something more kind of a spark between them. I'm glad that Deborah talked Bobin in to joining the tourniment & she meet the brother of her Sensei's Sensei a very wise I beleave Chinese man just like Pat Morieta (only he was from Japain & not China). I beleave that if Jin Li would stick around for next week's class Robin could learn even more from him. NOw I'm intruged as how the photo shoot & the game go and Robin & Nikie's date night goes OH & the whole corsit thing goes :)

Excellent chapter -
Well done Zoe, I loved the explanations about the real reasons for martial arts, self discipline, respect for others, apart from a great exercise and learning how to protect yourself.
As my instructor used to tell me, the more you learn the less you fight!

I was once told by a old man that was okinawan', like Pat Morita in the karate Kid movies, he wasnt a big believer about belts cept those holding his pants up. And he generally wore those over the shoulder suspenders than an actual belt around the ranch. But much of what I am or have become was from his teachings. He did allow for some tournament exposure, but I never had that much till much later on, mostly because where the tourmiments were held VS where we lived (distance).
What I learned kept me from most of the general bullying typical at school most of the time and Def prob. kept my hiney intact in marines, but alive as well. any rate the line he used on me was -
-
the ultimate martial arts move is one you never have had to make.

he firmly believed that if you got yourself into a siituation you HAD TO fight, then you already made mutiple mistakes in getting yourself into that situation in the 1st place. Tho he then went on for two hours on showing me ways to defend myself knowing I was so stupid I'd need them
(giggles with lots of tears, Gawd, I loved that old man)
