Zach is a good guy, but we still don't know why he was wearing panties. Was he, at some level, trying to be a girl for Chase? And what will Chase's parents say?

The best you can do is to hold on for your dear lives. And for Chase, the plane didn't stop falling till the last minutes on the island, if even then.

The story is not nearly over - the thing that did it - it did so for its own reasons. And I highly doubt that the extent of it was making a freak sex change of a singular geek, then sending him - now female - to the Big World.

Of course I may be wrong and somewhere, someone or something is rubbing hands together (metaphorically or literally), and doing a perfect Light Yagami/Xanatos impersonation routine! ;D

Faraway

Beautiful story, I hated to see it end, or at least this part of it. I am looking forward to the next part where the new Chase meets her family and the eventual return to the island. I just can't see them staying away for long at this point. Chase will likely soon be wanting to be in the wild and in contact with her panther again. I did enjoy seeing a bard start to begin forming and wonder if Zack is somewhere in the half-elf range now? Thinking that Zack may have been drawn to the finer softer fabrics of the panties partly, but I am sure there are other reasons behind it too. Looking forward to the next chapter and what happens when they return.

Being a bit puzzled by the objections about the use of "Reincarnate" on dead friends, I asked my good friend Google for an explanation. What I found gave me a partial answer, but I still feel the story could use a bit more fleshing out around the issue.

The first thing I found out is that in some games, the druid "Reincarnate" isn't simply a carbon copy of revive, but instead puts the person in an entirely new body. From what I understand, the penalty on the reincarnated person is the loss of a level. I've found no explanation about what happens when you try to reincarnate a level 0 character where it's not possible to subtract a level.

The second thing I found out is that there's no objection in using reincarnate more then once, so - assuming reincarnation of a level 0 character is allowed - one could simply keep trying until an acceptable body was found. It can't be that hard, else the spell would be completely useless.

Since it's clear the author doesn't want those friends to be around again, I'd suggest explaining it as being unable to reincarnate a level 0 character (which I guess their friends were when they got killed). To me, that makes more sense then the way it's written now. I know I wouldn't be that fast to discard a possibility to get a loved one back.
