I got lucky
I found a bit of time and was able to finish this up and get it to and back from my editor.
Next week is looking far more problematic as I'll have to be on the road and when not traveling, I'll be in meetings for bloody ever. Oh well, at least I enjoy my work and I actually have my work to go to.
I'll keep hammering away at Catwalk and try not to get too far behind. :)
I know you all are patent it's ME that isn't :P
Enjoy.
Love and Peace,
Connie
Another great chapter

Pleasant surprise
What a pleasant surprise!
I needed something to read to get my mind off things. I didn't expect (though I hoped for) a new chapter of Catwalk. Thanks for making my day, Connie.
I'm amazed at just how rounded Alex is despite all that she has gone through. She always seems to be thinking about others when someone in her situation could have turned inward and become withdrawn. It gives me hope that she will have a great future ahead of her.
Thank you Connie. I think all author's are impatient. Telling the story is a driving force that has to be listened to. I hope you find the time you need to write, because I selfishly want more. :P
Hugs,
Megan
New characters
Well, I have to say, you really peaked my interest - two new characters got introduced. Although Joe and his budhist colleage are looking to be promising, far more interesting is that goth girl, Blair. I am really curious, about her. What did she do, that local bully fears her? Will she and Alex become friends?
Curiouser and curiouser...
Robin
BTW: That bloody nose, was really well earned, Alex has nothing to be ashamed of.
I figured at least one of the officers had a daughter her age
Daddy gets high marks for having the surveillance on and the planned security improvement, LOW marks for not telling mom or the kids. This 'I didn't want to worry you' or whatever he said is sooo condescending. I don't think he meant it that way but Alex , mom and the twins could easily read that into it. Plus she was a kidnapping victim YOU TWIT! she NEEDS reassurance. Nice to see the new employer is helping the family out. But then dad and particularly Alex impressed him during the job inteview, well the mom did too. Israeli martial arts, sounds like just the thing for Alex. The Magrav(?)instructor, Joe's, advice to her sounded very important. Is it prophetic?
The slutty protégée of the Queen Bee making out in the library was fun but of greater lasting import was Alex meeting the Goth girl for the first time. I think I see the beginning of a major shakeup in the school's social structure. Alex is starting to collect a loyal band of followers and true friends. Does she see in the lonely and feared/looked down on(?) Goth girl something not unlike the pain Alex suffered when everyone including herself thought she was male? Wonder what her story is.
Shorter but quietly intense chapter. And having to tell her therapist about Brandon and the motorcycle ... um....grabbing his ...um... while she is all but orgasming on the bike ... incident. Ewh! Yucky! Ick! VERY FUNNY.
Got the impression from her NOT mentioning it and the therapist saying how well things were going and her doing more *relaxation exercises* with the doc that her memory problems are getting better. And maybe her sleep as well. The idea of using multiple massage sessions as therapy has merit. Helping to desensitize her to touch by strangers in a controlled way. Plus away to regain trust in others?

Mom and Dad knew
Both of Alex's parents were aware of the increase in security. They both decided to not tell the kids about the break in and having someone watch the house.
Obviously having the security system installed couldn't be kept from the kids but rightly or wrongly they didn't want to unnecessarily worry the children.
As always, love the feedback.
Peace,
Connie
Ah, it was Ellen and the rest of the kids who didn't
Somewho/how confused Ellen and mom in that scene.
Maybe it was my brrrain as my mom was an Ellen.
-- grin --
Such a sweet story with pleanty of surpizes,, from mild to major, nice to nasty.

Blare & Joe
Leave it to Lindey to spread rummors about someone who she is scared of :) typicl of that little slut, Although not as bad I guss as Jone.
I'm glad to find out who Joe ia & that he is there as I figured as a security speclist but insted of being hired by the family to protect Alix he was hired by the company, but the family added a few thigs like self defence trainig for Alix & a panic alarm cell phone (I hope none of them EVER have to use it.) It will be intresting to see what happins with the Buhist student & Alix.
As for Blare I think there is somthing hidden under her dark extreior I think she really does neeed a friend & Alix would be my #1 choice.

Catwalk Confidence - Part 53
Seems to me that Alex and Susan Brown's Susan 'Football Girl' Husrt have a lot in common. http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book/10143/football-girl

Blair
“You probably don’t want to be seen with me, besides I’m not really looking to make any friends.â€
Wanna bet?! :) Alex strikes me as the type who'll walk into the canteen and deliberately sit close to Blair - then try and work out what the girl's issues are. She may have been badly burned (metaphorically) by 'friends' in the past, so feels it easier to maintain a reputation as a social pariah rather than working on friendships. After all, what's happened to Blair can't be as bad as being kidnapped and tortured for several weeks by a psychopath.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
I don't think it's going to go this way
I think it's more likely that Blair or Alex will walk in on one another in that 'one of the best spots, too', Alex will invite Blair in (or ask 'mind if I join?' in other case) and then they'll stay there for a bit doing what they planned to, in companionable silence. I think it suits both of their apparent personalities more, since Alex is still a bit shy and not very outgoing, and Blair seems reserved.
Hmmm, I do wonder when did Blair enter her Goth phase ('It's not a phase!' denials are welcome, I just don't know how to say it when I don't know if she will ever move on to something else or will stay so) - before or after meeting and/or clashing heads with Lindsey. And, for that matter, when did they meet?

What a great prescription!
Amanda has come up with an excellent way to help Alex over her PTSD, and I look forward to seeing how this pans out in practice.
Thanks, Connie. It would seem that this story has a way to go. Two further things I'll be watching for (as well as an email from the Aunt) are how Alex is able to befriend Blair, and what's going to happen between Alex and Lindsey. In the latter case, I'm picking that at some point, Lindsey is going to try something physical and is going to wish she hadn't.
