I wrote the story several years ago, and eventually expanded it into the characters' history as related in the Bielecki Family Chronicles. Since then, owing to learning all the ins and outs of my mother's heritage, I discovered that I had great-grandparents who include Jewish heritage. Pretty neat!

Words in English
Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let’s have a party
We’ll all dance the hora
Gather ’round the table
We’ll give you a treat
Sivivon to play with and latkes to eat
And while we are playing
The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
to remind us of days long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
to remind us of days long ago.
Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
A time to remember.
A joyful, jolly holiday
that comes in December
Every day for eight days, dreidels will spin
Crispy little latkes, tasty and thin.
And nightly, so brightly,
the candles of Chanukah glow.
One for each night, they shed a sweet light,
to remind us of days long ago.
One for each night, they shed a sweet light,
to remind us of days long ago.
a dank di shvester
Chag Sameach Chanukah!

Happy Chanukah
Hi Andrea. Have a Happy Chanukah and an early Merry Christmas
RAMI
I'm Afraid
Chanukah in Australia will not be a happy one this year. A massacre at Bondi Beach of a Jewish community celebrating the first day has spoiled it.
May..
May the light from the Menorah remind us all that even while we are surrounded by darkness, enclosed by darkness, besieged by it. That there is still goodess in the world and one small act of love, charity, or even friendship can fend off the darkness. Many blessings to you this season.
Kindness And Bravery
The act of vicious hate at Bondi has brought an explosion of bravery and kindness from the public throughout Australia and much of the rest of the world.
Menorah are being lit throughout the country and financial help is pouring in for the heroes and victims of the tragedy. It is striking that the bravest man of all is an immigrant from Syria named Ahmad Al Ahmad.
Good will always prevail....we hope.
