My mother was a WWII era veteran
Born in 1927 (two days older than your dad) she is unfortanately not around any longer.
She had the highest military rank in the family: She was promoted to Vice corporal in the summer of 1944.

While I understand wars, I abhor the thoughts of the results. That some despot wasn't content and invaded Ukraine, killing its people and upending their lives for no reason, hurts me every time I think of it. Then we have our own despot who starts another needless war. Both in my birth month of February too, why then? So sad.
