wow just wow
what a wonderful sweet story thank you for sharing this .now need tissue to dry my eyes
Fine Story...
...but it took me a while (too long?) to figure out that the present-tense sentences were captions (or AI descriptions) for invisible pictures rather than continuity/tense problems.

Thank you for telling me
I thought I had a clean version. I have a version with pictures, but I had trouble uploading pictures so I just decided to do it without the pictures. apparently there’s captions so thank you for telling Me, I don’t know why I didn’t spot it
God bless

Outstanding!
It should definitively have a tissue warning. Well done!
There are raindrops on my phone screen
I am inside on a sunny day looking at tiny dots of rainbow light as I type this. This is an incredibly sweet story and it ended perfectly.

No pictures needed
You showed everything with your words. You're definitely another author I'll watch for.
It took me five minutes
before I finished crying enough to post this comment. This is so incredibly sweet and compassionate. More please.
I agree…
…with what LisaCharlene said. Now, where are those tissues? Also agree with Greybeard that the story doesn’t need pictures. You paint the pictures with your words, just like the dungeon master paints the picture of the game with his words.

Beautiful
What a nice, sweet story.
It was obvious to me, early on, just from your words, that Chris was homeless, so it should not have been a surprise that Lily and her family figured it out.
Beautiful family
And, a beautiful story, too. Add in the Quenya, andI’m a right puddle. It seems Jasmine has found her place.
Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed . . . .
