Planned to trim and mow at least some this morning, but it was still raining. Waited 'till after 11 and did most of the trimming. Took an unplanned break when I ran out of trimmer string on the new trimmer and had trouble finding the manual. Turns out that reloading is pretty easy. (I'm starting to love Ego products.) Soaked with sweat; cooler outside but still very humid. Will resume around 3 this afternoon.

Trimmer line
I've given up using the trimmer as I realized the amount of microplastics it contributes to the environment is substantial.
Looking for a biodegradable version that is allowed in my state.
Just moved...
... from the US Southwest high desert to the US Southeast. I grew up in the US Northeast so I am familiar with lawn care but the humidity here is tough. I was in the desert since 2012 so it will definitely take some time to acclimate. Today was the first time using an electric mower and after a bit of a learnings curve, loved it.
I never liked string trimmers and all the plastic is another reason to pass on one. I guess it's back to manual shears (ugh) or some other form of trimmer. I plan on extending plantings so I might just go with an electric edger. That's for next spring. For the time being it's the shears. Sigh...
