Nuclear Wessels
Sad, but 90 is a pretty good run. Wikipedia just says "natural causes at his home in Hollywood"
Really hope his last days weren't too awful + his passing was as peaceful as can be expended.
And I just said nuclear wessels because that's probably my favorite Chekov line
that doesn't involve a genetically mutated Ricardo Montalban
jamming a mind control insect thing in his ear...

for the axe had convinced them that because his handle
was made of wood he was one of them.
One of my favorite
Scenes is from trouble with tribbles.
Reminder
Thanks reminding me of the movie and the scene. I was thinking of the phrase/trope, "Chekov's Gun".

One of my favorite episodes with Chekov…….
Was always The Trouble With Tribbles.
In his classic Russian accent, Chekov asserts that the region of space the Enterprise was traveling through was first charted by a Russian, whereupon Spock points out it was a British astronomer. He then later asserts that quadrotriticale was created in Russia, and Spock corrects him that it was Canada. But my favorite Chekov line is when Scotty compares his vodka to “soda pop”, he responds that Scotch was "inwented by a little old lady from Leningrad."
I also remember him playing the recurring role of Bester in Babylon 5 - yet another show which ended too soon.
So, now we have lost two Chekovs………. Anton Yelchin and Walter Konig.
God I feel old.

Ay ya yoy!
I read this
...and immediately thought, "But Chekhov died in 1904" before spotting a Skeet on Bluesky from George Takei ('Sulu')
I remember spotting Koenig in a cheapo called 'Moontrap' in which he, er, played the dashing romantic action hero who gets the glamour girl...
That was actually a good movie
The story and plot of movie was good, special effects were believeable.
First Chekov, now Picard...
RIP Patrick Stewart.
Shit, these are disheartening times
I could use some good news on November 3rd!

Ahem
Made it so
You know you’re old……..
When all your heroes and favorite stars keep passing beyond the veil.
Every year it seems like the list doesn’t just get longer, but closer to home.
