But isn’t it ironic that in 2023 when Charlie Kirk was asked whether he thought his right to own a gun was more important than school children being shot and killed he responded, “I think it’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.“
Well, it looks like he just became part of that price. Charlie Kirk was anti-gay, anti-trans, mysogenistic, and extremely racist. He has advocated for violence against numerous minority groups over the past several years as well. A real chip off the ol’ MAGA block, he was a younger clone of Stephen Miller.
All I have to say to the MAGA faithful after hearing about his death……….
“Sorry Charlie!”

I can't say how saddened I am to read that.
I thought better of you, Dallas. You start off by saying how much you abhor political violence and then you revel in the death of a man for exercising the right you and I both swore to uphold. Charley Kirk wasn't a perfect human being, but there aren't any of those walking this planet. You may dislike his views and you have the right to air your grievances with them. But even if he was everything you claim he was, he didn't deserve a bullet to the throat for having the temerity to voice them.
As your friend, and I AM your friend, I strongly advise you to reconsider what you said here. It's unbecoming of you, and particularly thoughtless of a widow and two fatherless children because some mad man took the relentlessly violence weighted rhetoric to heart and misused one of our most important civil rights.
I'm out of my mind and into yours!
I don’t revel in his death…….
I am simply pointing out that he was in fact hoist on his own petard.
As the saying goes, those who live by the sword, die by the sword. Or in this case, those who see no issue in the fact that children die in mass shootings each year as long as it means they can run out and buy another gun without having to submit to a background check or a waiting period, may find themselves being the one who actually has to pay the price for that right.
Charlie Kirk was a modern day McCarthy, founding an organization which sought to fire or silence teachers, school board members, and professors who shared or opposed political opinions which differed from his Turning Point organization. He created the Professor Watchlist and School Board Watchlist which published the names and personal information of those he deemed to be opposed to his political beliefs. He opposed vaccines, was well known for his anti LGBTQ statements, his criticism of the Civil Rights Act, and his promotion of Christian Nationalism. He also was a proponent of The Great Replacement conspiracy theory.
He was scum, but as you so definitely pointed out, he had a right to be scum and have his political opinions - and I would defend his right to have them whether I agreed with them or not.
I don’t approve of political violence by any side or party. Nor do I approve of people like Trump inciting political violence, which he does daily with his stupid comments and posts. I am not happy that he was killed - any assassination is wrong, no matter who the victim.
However, like I said, I cannot help but see the irony in how he died - nor in what he was debating when it happened.
As I said, hoist on his own petard………
