Trump has that tar baby right where he wants it……..

Yessir, good ole’ Donny has that tar baby right where he wants it!

Trump started a war with no true justification and no real goal in mind. Nothing beyond distracting voters from all of his other problems and scandals, plus the ability to thrust out his chest and brag about how “no one has ever done anything so great before”. His usual claim to fame.

And now every time he hits the Iranian tar baby, he just gets stuck deeper and harder and has no idea how to get loose.

When I checked the site today, I found a message sent to me regarding an attempt by multiple anti-trans organizations to get the FDA to create restrictive regulations on the prescription and use of estrogen for the treatment of transgender women. The request is of course based on pseudoscience, and when reviewing the petition it becomes readily apparent that many of the justifications for their petition are being twisted to reflect a viewpoint not originally cited within the referenced materials.

My wife wanted to watch the Oscar’s this evening…….

And as I am wont to do, I sat with her splitting my attention between reading and watching. To be honest, I have little interest in most of the awards, the sophomoric comedy of Conan O’Brien, or the vast majority of the acceptance speeches. However, I was watching when they remembered those who had passed away in the last year - with special attention given to Rob and Michelle Reiner, Diane Keaton, and Robert Redford.

And a few days ago I finished reading The Station’s Late Nite Princess, and started in on Frills, both of which are among my favorites.

In Frills, there is a scene where the main character’s home is toilet papered, the cars covered in shaving cream, and the house egged, by a group of high school students for the 28th time inside of a year. What made this stand out was the news story I saw this evening about a high school teacher in Georgia who was killed Friday night by a group of five teens while they toilet papered his home.

Notwithstanding Trump’s repeated lies about not getting the US involved in another endless war in the Middle East, he has now attacked Iran for a second time in conjunction with his buddy Netanyahu. This is obviously all about regime change, with the added advantage that it distracts voters from his domestic failures - not to mention the fact that his administration continues to bury multiple documents related to him and Epstein.

Iwona B. Horyn

Seriously? What sadistic bastard would name their child “I wanna be whorin’”??? If my last name was Horyn, I would not name my daughter Iwona - and if I did, I absolutely would not give her the middle initial “B”.

Named Haolong Dongi.

Haolong (lit. 'spiny dragon') is an extinct genus of hadrosauroid ornithopod dinosaur known from the Early Cretaceous (Barremian age) Yixian Formation of Liaoning, China. The genus contains a single species, Haolong dongi, known from a nearly complete, articulated skeleton with preserved integumentary structures.

The generic name, Haolong, comes from Mandarin Chinese and translates to "spiny dragon," in reference to its integumentary structures. The specific name, dongi, honors Dong Zhiming, a prominent Chinese paleontologist.

Patel, whose use of a government jet has frequently come under scrutiny, flew on a Justice Department plane Thursday to Italy with plans to attend the Olympic hockey medal rounds, according to public data and sources familiar with the matter.

The last person they auditioned was singing a song he had written for his father, who had died of leukemia. I wasn’t really paying attention to most of the show as I was reading while she watched, but something made me pay attention to this last audition.

The Democratic members of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform have released the findings of a report examining last month's fatal shootings in Minneapolis by federal immigration officers. In their statement, the report claims that "President Trump, [Homeland Security Secretary] Kristi Noem, and [the U.S. Department of Homeland Security] have lied over and over again and are now trying to cover up the truth. The Trump Administration needs to be held accountable."

This evening, I was exposed to greatness. Colbert’s guest was Ian McKellan, who performed live a speech from Shakespeare’s play Thomas More, which was written some 500 years ago and represents the only work actually preserved in the Bard’s actual handwriting. For political reasons, namely that it was considered seditious when written, the play was first performed in 1967. Ian McKellan was the actor who created the part of Thomas More in that first production of the play; a play which is as fitting in today’s world as it was 500 years ago.

The music of The Alan Parsons Project was the soundtrack of my life for decades - good times and bad. It brought me up when I needed it, and it was there to keep me company in some of the lowest points of my life.

It has become somewhat more cosmopolitan over the past decade as people move north from New York’s Capital/Saratoga Region where I live, but it is still a pretty red part of New York State.

After cleaning up the kitchen from dinner this evening, I sat down to read while my spouse watched the end of the Philadelphia/Buffalo football game. My oldest son and his wife were at the game; my son is a Philly fan while his wife is a Buffalo fan, so both of them were excited to be at the game - especially in light of the fact that it was the last regular season game at the Buffalo stadium as they move into their new stadium before the start of the next season. Buffalo is a five hour drive from our home, so they are spending the night and coming home tomorrow.

I have much to be thankful for. I am coming up on five years cancer free this spring, and I feel great. Something that those who have served will understand, one is shooting at me, and just as importantly I am not having to shoot at anyone to protect my team.

Has anyone heard anything from Daring Diane?

The last I heard from her she was working on a new book in her Cheerleader series, but it has been quite a while since she published anything. I am more than a little concerned about her. Too many authors have simply disappeared over the past few years.

Too many simply slip away, never to be heard from again. Too much talent is lost to the world when it happens, and those of us left behind can only wonder why, only wonder what happened.

Just a quick comment about one of my pet peeves……

My spouse is a huge NY Yankees fan, which can be veeeeeery annoying, lol. Especially since our local cable tv provider carries the YES Network (Yankee Entertainment System), which means that EVERY SINGLE YANKEE GAME FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON IS ON TV, and she has to watch all of them.

Now I have nothing against sports in general, or baseball specifically - but it is very annoying when for basically half of the year she has to watch a baseball game every day! Especially since I am a Dodger fan, and she is watching the damned Yankees!

Sudden issues reading on Fictionmania.com……..

I have been re-reading a group of my favorite stories recently, including Clara’s works on Fictionmania.

Last night, when I finished part five of “Kiss Me Bianca”, closed it, and went to open part six, I suddenly received an error message, which read as follows:

429 Too Many Requests
If you're a human being, try again tomorrow
If you're a bot, go to Hell and stay there!

I am still not able to access anything beyond the entry page at Fictionmania. Anyone else having this issue?

Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Or why I am getting it?

Seven in just the last couple of years. That is inordinately high."
