Kudos and hits: the same number of digits, namely three.
I was waiting for my story How BttF Might Have Ended to reach 150 kudos before posting this update to A Rare Statistic (Hits and Kudos). It seemed stuck at 149 kudos for the longest time. But it still has under 1000 hits -- 932 last I checked.
Two more stories reached and surpassed 200 kudos last summer: Still Another Dress Code on July 7th (not surprising) and SRU: Reforming the Brat on August 21st (rather surprising). The former has only a few tens of hits more than the runaway leader in kudos, The Bridge, with the fewest hits of the 200-plus-kudo stories, but almost within striking distance of 300 kudos.

A watched pot never boils
I wouldn't worry about it: write for yourself. The 'thumb' thing is pretty much meaningless, and there are fewer of us left around to vote (if you can even call it a vote) nowadays. Just enjoy your own craft, for yourself. You'll know if you managed to write a story that you were pleased with. If it pushed some boundaries and took some people out of their comfort zone, so much the better, I reckon.

Hadn't Realized...
...that it was rare. But (fwiw) none of my nine stories here have three digits for both kudos and hits. Three of them have been here for six weeks or less, but based on early returns (so to speak -- some people here still call them votes) I'm not really expecting that to change.

... that it would be quite rare, except possibly right at the boundary -- kudos surpassing 100 just before hits surpass 1000.
One thing I've never heard of occurring: kudos hitting 1000 before hits hit 10000.

That rather depends, as book chapters other than the first will typically have less hits but similar kudos. The last novel I put up has the first chapter with 1763 hits (and 133 kudos), but the average hits (even including chapter 1's outlier) is around 650. Average kudos is ~100.
Hitting 1000 kudos before 10000 hits though...will require a lot more readers! lol
And there's always that one chapter (or 'parts' posting) that gets stuck for months right at those hundreds boundaries even though all the others around it crossed and then some ages ago! Fickle are the kudos across chapters...fickle I say! :)

One thing to remember about hits is that they include every click on the post, not just one hit per individual reader.
So, if a post raises thoughts or questions then it can trigger off a load of hits as the commenters all re-read to see what the other commenters have added - and add more comments. (As this post has done!)
That means that on occasion, the hit count can be substantial, even if the kudos count does not change at all.
