Once again, Trump managed to find an excuse to not follow through with his ultimatum in Iran.

He stupidly starts an illegal war, with no real justification and absolutely no plan or goal, and he has no plan for ending it and no way to get out of it without looking like the moron that he is. So he keeps making demands, threatening to commit war crimes, and lying about how he is talking to the right people in Iran and is “this close” to peace.

He sets deadlines and continues to extend them because the Iranians aren’t simply rolling over and kowtowing to His Orangeness. So now at the twelfth hour again, he claims to have negotiated a ceasefire.

Because Trump Always Chickens Out! Because everyone has already noticed how he just keeps extending his deadlines, and how his threats are nothing more than so much bluster. And probably because any competent military officer will refuse to carry out Trump’s illegal actins of bombing civilian infrastructure - which is a war crime not just internationally, but also by US law.

I am not a proponent of this war, and I am amazed that the spineless Republican majority in Congress refuses to take a stand and put a stop to it. I absolutely do not condone the waste of human life, military equipment and munitions, and the cost to the American public - not to mention the world economy. If Trump follows through with his threats to commit war crimes, not only should he be impeached, but he should be tried as a war criminal!
