For those folks who need it (and can afford it) it is a godsend as there is no way a lot of the pre-pictures I have seen would have been able to pass. I transitioned before it was even available though, before the legendary Dr Ousterhout made it mainstream. For those folks who are borderline in terms of needing it, I would recommend they save their money. In general, Asians don't need it as we don't have the heavy brow ridge.

It is a double edge benefit of course as Asian men are not considered as masculine looking as their Caucasian counterpart and consequently less 'manly.' As a result, when I transitioned, I was able to skip it. I am sure I can be prettier if I had it done though but as usual it is bang for buck.

Laverne Cox does not need it but I don't have any knowledge as to whether she had it done or not.
