Not posting anything today

I did a reptile survey yesterday, and the combination of rough ground with gorse and heather, which are real trip hazards plus the awful weather, wind and rain, meant I have been tired all day today and only part-written something. I'll get it finished as soon as I can. But apologies to both my readers.

3 Stories today - don't expect it every week.

I discovered half a story on my hard disk of Principal Boy, I don't know why I didn't finish it. I have done so this week, I also include an episode of the Recoverer and Bike. I was just in a mood to write this week, next week I may not, so enjoy it while it lasts. Having problems with my fridge-freezer which alternately freezing stuff in the fridge and then defrosting it. So far I have lost at least £10 worth of food, meat as well as green stuff. I have bought another one but it doesn't come until Wednesday.

I've done an episode of Bike.

I haven't had time to do the Recoverer this week, last week's efforts took quite a bit out of me. It's been a nice day and as rain is possible tomorrow I stripped and washed my bedding and put it back on the bed. It gets harder and harder, the stroke really reduced my strength and stamina. I have, however, started sorting out my wifi, so my phone is on it and also a newer computer using windows 11. It's very different and is taking up my valuable time.

I have been reading Bike.

I read until the last one I posted, with a view to perhaps writing some more. The reason I haven't is that things have changed so much in the UK with the ruling of the corrupt Supreme Court against trans people, this was obviously a politicised decision, with money coming from that stupid but very rich woman author and pressure from TERFS. I now have no belief in the UK Justice system, parliamentary system or UK based multinationals.

It will be an anniversary of my transition, 39 years ago - told you I was old. I'll be dragging myself up to the hospital for a diabetic eye test so won't be celebrating, not that the cats are very much partygoing types, they don't even drink milk prefering water from the toilet pan although I give them clean every morning. Since that day, I don't know how many posts I've made here, more than anyone else by quite a margin. I've been reading some of the back issues of Bike that Sephie posted and continued on.

Nothing to post this week.

I have this evening just been released from hospital this evening, after suffering another stroke. I have received the best treatment from an updated stroke unit which is being improved again. I thank them for treating me with their first class therapy including a new clot-buster drug, which hope has sorted my problem. I hope to be writing again soon,

Angharad.

I'm working on something different but...

Hi All,
I'm trying to write something different from my usual, although that is quite varied already if you look at my short story as well as serials page. It's could run to a couple of parts or one longer story. I don't want to divulge too much about the outline but it should suit those who like a bit of action rather than vanilla tales of twelve-year-olds.

Sorry, nothing to post today

I just ran out of time. I was out dormousing much of the day and I fell asleep and didn't wake in time to finish writing. I'm trying to continue my latest serial and also working on a new short story. I may do some more tomorrow but no promises, I am quite tired and have a busy week in prospect.

Transwoman former judge intends to take supreme court ruling to Europe.

Blog About:

Author:

Former judge Dr Victoria McCloud is planning to challenge the UK Supreme Court ruling at the European Court of Human Rights because she like many of us feel it impinges on her freedom and human rights. I support her and wish her well. It annoys me that the government could pass an act and then completely renege on it after twenty years of it sort of working, so they have very seriously affected my human rights and yet still take taxes off me. I would not pee on this government if it caught fire.

At last a woman journalist who I agree with entirely.

This author is Zing Tsjeng writing an opinion piece in the i paper, she points out the victory claimed by feminist activists is pyrrhic and doesn't see the greater picture. Activists on both sides do more damage than good and the bigger picture should show cis gender and trans women joining together to halt the danger to women of all types, shapes and sizes from male predators. Trans women aren't a risk to other women but macho men may be. Let's get rid of institutional misogyny and protect all women and girls, trans variety too.

It seems transgender rights are receding in the UK

Blog About:

Author:

I am very sad to see that the UK supreme court is antitransgender and that that well known overpaid hack, JKRowling has funded this discriminatory finding that will set back transgender rights in the UK for a generation. It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what transgender is about. Seeing as the current research suggests we are affected before birth should that have the same definition as cisgendered females. This is political with morons like Rowling not seeing the bigger picture.

Interesting report in the Guardian about GD in children

Blog About:

Author:

It appears that mention of Gender dysphoria in children and young adults has gone from 1:60,000 to 1:1200 in the last ten years, The overwhelming demand is from biological females. It also seems there is no overall strategy for treatment and following the Cass report, the use of blockers and hormones is on hold.

Crazy Daisy

I'm going to have a go at a continuation to this story with some glossaries of dance terms I downloaded. Thanks all who commented on parts one and two your encouragement is very helpful. Unfortunately, they don't have a term for a Smudge cat who launched herself off the floor with forepaws patting together as she tried to catch a fruit fly. It looked as if she was saying her prayers in mid-air. It was really quite amusing to watch.

Very Interesting article in the Guardian

I thought I knew about all this. I was wrong and it was a coup attempt which Trump lied his way out of again. Also, it seems republicans have shorter memories than woodlice. How do I know, I'm a scientist.

No Bike this Saturday

I've been ill all over Christmas and still feel weak and wobbly. I am slowly recovering, and only cough about 25 times a second now. I remind you of a piece I wrote 12 years ago at this time of year, using a character from Bike which still seems to have a charm and humour, if you haven't seen it before I suggest you have a look and enjoy.

Morning of frustration

My kitchen mixer tap has been dripping for some weeks. Yesterday I tried to get the cap off and failed. I went and finished reading a novel instead. Today, with a renewed feeling of intent, I got a selection of screwdrivers and set to. I had bought some washers in the week so hoped I could do the job. I have never been good at plumbing, I'm still not, but it seems mixer taps don't have washers, they have cartridges. I watched a couple of you tube videos to see what I had to do, I then looked on Screwfix site to see how much they were. There are loads.

Blog About:

Author:

38 years ago it was a Monday morning when I went into my office as a woman and everyone was very helpful. I've had a few difficult days since then including coming to terms with a stroke and the finite quality of life. I've lost my son, my marriage had already broken up, but he took his own life in 2014, a week after I'd celebrated 28 years of being me. The surgery took longer than anticipated but gave me time to know it was right for me. I just got into the fast track applicants to the Gender Panel, so after 16 or so years as female, I actually got legal status as one.

Proud of my daughter.

Blog About:

Author:

My daughter was in Cardiff the other day when a woman approached her and handed her a flier about the preservation of woman-only spaces, against transwomen. My daughter quickly scanned it and then gave it back to her saying, "These spaces should be open to all women, however they became so, as they are all women and they are all equal." She said she felt very angry that people should be prejudicial, it annoyed her feminism. I was very proud of her.

At Last Something Uplifting About US Transgender kids

Blog About:

It seems transgender children are the easiest target for the self-righteous rightwing parties to target, so it's good to read a positive story for once. It may only be a drop in the ocean of hate that seems to exist these days, but it made me feel glad that someone is trying. Here is a link to the Guardian report:https://www.theguardian.com/society/article/2024/may/29/tran...

Bike (Easy As Falling Off variety)

I know that self-recommendation is no recommendation, or at least so my mother used to say, but I was recently asked a question about Bike which involved reading fifty or so episodes to answer. Now I know Bike has it's fans and many more who would probably enjoy it but are frightened of its length.
