Featured BigCloset TopShelf author IAmHerEmma.
Hello! My author name is IAmHerEmma, but you can call me Emma. I’ve always been drawn to TG fiction in the crossdressing and trans spaces, and spent years quietly devouring every story I could find. Eventually, all that daydreaming and fantasising made me want to tell my own stories, so now I write stories about men who love all things feminine and want to experience being one, and I enjoy experimenting with different tones, styles, and scenarios.
When I first discovered TG fiction, most of what I found was erotica where women were dominant, and men were weak, submissive, and often humiliated. That was my early frame of reference, so a lot of my first attempts at writing leaned heavily into femdom. Over time, I realised it couldn't always be about that dynamic, and I started to dislike how often the focus was on breaking men down rather than building them up. I know not every TG writer works that way, but I had become so fixated on the femdom angle that I felt boxed in. I wanted to shake myself out of that and remind myself that these stories can be about love and romance, too. Since then, I have been learning how to write stories that still embrace eroticism while also letting tenderness, connection, and mutual desire sit at the centre.
It has not always been easy. For a long time, I never posted my stories anywhere, and I burned out quickly. When I crashed, I crashed hard, and I stopped writing altogether for about six years. Even then, I always had a swirl of ideas in my head, but never quite the motivation to put them on the page. At the beginning of 2025, I finally tried to break out of that shell and started my first story in six years, The Girl I Undressed. It was a struggle: I took many breaks, felt uninspired, and constantly worried the story was not good enough. After spending around 5 months writing it, I still hadn't posted it.
What changed was a gentle push from an author friend who encouraged me to at least get it beta-read. To my surprise, the reaction was positive. That gave me the courage to share the story publicly, and I was met with so much love and support that I am still genuinely grateful for. Knowing that readers connected with it means more to me than I can say. My hope is that I can stay inspired, keep learning, and continue writing stories people enjoy.
