Deity Arms
While in the Ovid universe I rather like the Deity Arms stories better than the Ovid tales. And talking about Deity Arms you can't forget about the Barbie Lee story in the same universe. Mr. Logan is just as high handed as the Judge but somehow comes out more compassionate. Despite his claim of simple amusement there is a strong sense of justice. I enjoyed this little trip back to a part of NYC that has a bit more magic than the rest of the city.

The Past Recalled
I remember when I first read The Professor's Deity Arms stories. I enjoyed them even more than the Ovid stories. I was sure I had read this one but it wasn't until about half way through that I remembered what was going on. I don't think The Professor wrote many stories in this universe, but another author wrote a very nice and faithful sequel. It was nice to read this one again.

Deity Arms 2: I Call My Sugar Candy
Me, I can see Ricardo Montlban of Fantasy Island as Mister Lucas. To me, his voicing those lines, fit.

Deity Arms
I really like this universe. There are gods, they change unwilling subjects, but at least they're not an ass about it. They look out for justice and honestly try to help their "victims". I guess its kind of logical. The people who created the gods wanted helpers and judges. They didn't want cold egomaniacs. They probably need to help someone, improve someones life to be happy themselves.
If gods like these were real, they would be rather pitiful existences. Created by humanity and abandoned over the course of time. That they're not reeally cruel to their victims is really amazing.
I like this universe better than ovid, since this is more than just throwing a fish into a new pond, while destroying the old one. The gods don't seem to be able to change reality like the ovid gods, which makes the situation less cruel for the victims.
Thank you for writing this captivating story,

Pawns, Mr. L
>‘But then pawns are expendable,’
Only a beginner in chess would think that. In chess ALL pieces are expendable EXCEPT the king. Pawns are very important as a defense. If you sacrifice them mindlessly a good opponent will tear you apart in no time.
And I got the impression that Mr. L is actually Lucifer.
