Ok now that the tar an featherin is outta the way,another great chapter but here something I noticed you say it's chap 18 the title says chapter 19. Just a heads up ya might wanna fix it before some overly anal person complains. Me I could care less if ya named it chapter 19 in the title but called it chapter alpha beta tango xD.
The Confusion
Part One is actually the prologue and Ch. 1 actually starts in Part 2. So each of the chapters that have followed have been one off. I'm going to try and fix things as soon as the story is completely published...which should be in a few more chapters :).

Bats, maybe. Onyx seems likely as Steph is her student and she once was in *the game*. Bats, maybe but is he healed sufficiently? Alfred? How old is THIS Alfred and in what physical condition? Though the busting of the lamps could be good sharp shooting with some of Bruce's *toys*. Specter? Not up and running yet I believe or at least not the one fighting the chip/transformation people. This is early-ish in the meta history. Does Cat Woman exist yet?

Booster Gold is perhaps overdue to ease up on the commercial endorsements and get back into heroing. And wasn't one of her friends, her lover I think, a fairly major super? Been a while since I read it.

While what i was hoping to happen did not happen this was a great chapter none the less. I am also going to say that the last chapter was great too....(never had the chance to comment due to getting used to a new job) This however reminds me why i never listen to my over active imagination about thriller novels.

unless your going to kill them, knocking out a guard an just leaving them is never a good ideal. getting rid of the gun was smarter than most, it would only take her seconds to zip tie ankles and wrists. who wants a guard that was not out for as long as anticipated coming up behind them.
as for the rest, looks really good. the only question is who's coming to help, bruce or onyx?

Stupid errors happen.
They aren't always dangerous, but the fun ones in fiction tend to be that way for someone.
I'll not speculate on the helper who just showed up for a number of reasons. At first I thought Batman was back, too, but now I'm not so sure of that...
Oh well, we'll all find out in the next chapter, I think.

Zip ties where the first thing that I thought of when she left the goons just lying there. The guns are another thing but there are many quick ways to screw up a gun if you want to remove it from use. I knew that the night goggles could be a problem, and she may remember this in the future. But, things are not that bad now, as she has been trained to fight in the dark and it is a bet the thugs have not.
This chapter got me wondering
About the standard night vision goggles fatal flaw. That they blind to the point of pain if used in brightly lit environment.
I mean, depending on the technology used (don't know the first thing about those admittedly) this standard fatal flaw is easily circumvented by ensuring the top brightness output of the screen is always insignificant enough.

I hope who ever he/she/they are, they're ready for a fight. If it's Giganta (as one person suggested) she might not have too much trouble even against an army of goons, but the rest of the list... well, twenty plus guys isn't an easy fight. Especially if the big guy with the mask who rolled Tim into the room is Bane. He's a threat to anybody.
In any case, next chapter's looking to be action packed.
