Deep Into That Darkness Peering Part-6
Raven would make a neato Jedi or Lantern.
May Your Light Forever Shine
May Your Light Forever Shine
Erm...
Regardless of the fact Lilith's story is probably set at least half a year down the line, she's far too old to be a Jedi (Anakin, at 8, was pushing the boundaries - and although Luke was older, that was a complete fluke) and certainly with the potential evil half in the back of her mind, to even attempt training would be the obligatory one way street.
Lantern? Which type? She certainly hasn't got the emotional resilience or willpower to go green, and this is set before Jade is taken to trial on Oa and returns as a Star Sapphire.
She'll plough her own course - staying on the heroic side but battling internal demons as much as (if not more so than) external villains / monsters.

Dark Half
That's an interesting character in its (her?) own right. On the one hand, it's apparently evil, has been chained up, wants to be released to go on a power trip, and has the necklace as a bribe. On the other hand, it did give out some useful information this time - i.e. the group doing the ritual killings is getting closer to town, the precognition events are "read only" (i.e. you can't change the outcome), and it seems to have some degree of warning about when a precognition vision's likely to occur.
At the moment, Rachel's evidently too scared to admit to having the precognitive visions, but presumably at some point in time she'll snap. Ideally, she'd need to write down everything she can remember about them and file the reports with someone before the incident happens. Oh, and make sure she has a cast iron alibi so they don't suspect her of direct involvement :)
Unfortunately Rachel's precognitive visions only cover the execution itself - if only she could get wind of events beforehand (such as the kidnap of the victim), or even hang around long enough to find out their mode of transport, her visions could actually be useful. At the moment, her powers seem to be more an annoyance than a useful tool.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...

Her Powers
She's definitely afraid of them at the moment but I think I would be too...after all they did help kill her girlfriend. But I think with time she'll get used to them and maybe even learn to control them. What she needs is someone to explain things to her...possibly a mentor or something :)
I lol'ed at this line xD.
I couldn’t help but smirk at him when I thought about his hitting on his own uncle last night. Now I knew why Barbara had felt so uncomfortable. I had to even though I knew at the end of the last story that it was his uncle it wasn't till the end of this chapter an you slipped that line in about him hittin on his own uncle made me laugh. Bart kinda reminds me of the flash from justice league unlimited an kid flash from young justice
Bart
I kinda modeled him after them actually. I wanted to use him to bring in the humor because there are some dark things in this story :)
Curiouser and curiouser
Well, things are definitely getting curiouser and curiouser. Although, I'm not sure what the LEOs are going to say about her disappearing act. Also, when will she learn that she's a magic user, since she's displaying multiple powers?
Drakira

Her Magic
That should be coming soon.
Technically Ryan wasn't ever
Technically Ryan wasn't ever arrested, although to be honest they had no right or justification to hold Ryan at all the excuse that it was for Sarah's piece of mind wouldn't hold up in court in fact I suspect if persued Ryan could sue them for false imprisonment, disregard for due process or whatever it's called and several other procedural midemeanors.
The officer who questioned him would most likely be suspended pending further investigation, the mayor n governs office would be uproar knowing that if the press got wind of it they'd have a field day.
Great stort Enemyoffun, looking forward to getting some answers soon.

Bailey's Angel
The Godmother :p
Arrest
Apparently they can hold people up to a certain amount of hours before actually charging anyone with anything. I think they don't have to read you your rights until they actually charge you with a crime too. :)
I didn't see the flash coming
I didn't see the flash coming
The Flash
I actually had a bit of fun writing her...I just hope her writer likes what I did too :)
I did!
I did! :D You not only wrote her well I think you prodded my muse to get back to writing her. :) So thank you for both the enjoyable story and the inspiration!
Well Julie...
That's kinda the idea... Flash is so fast you don't see her coming :p

So...
I think the thing behind the door is the part of her that she doesn't want acknowledge and I think when she see's it, it will look like Katie. (but maybe that's just my warped mind)
Is Bart going to get powers? Good story EOF.
The Thing
You got it part right but which part I'm not going to say because that would be cheating :)
I keep holding myself back
I keep holding myself back from commenting on what I know from DC Canon and how it relates to Rachel of the CRU since I don't want to inadvertently blow connections to possible plotlines. So, I'll just have to say that I liked the chapter and I'm glad that the cops won't be chasing her for her role in her GF's death. Rachel is punishing herself more than they could.
Regarding her voluntary incarceration: They asked and she conceded. End of police liability. Miranda rights are given when an arrest is made, for the most part. While she could sue them (you can sue anyone for anything), it would be pointless and thrown out of court. Even her disappearance from the cell isn't illegal since she was there voluntarily. So all of this is a non-issue.
The only thing that could be a problem is confessing that Rachel had the power of suggestion and made Katie kill herself. She didn't know about it at the time so could probably be cleared of culpability, but now that she knows she has the power, all bets are off. Anything she does now, she does with foreknowledge and intent. Since she doesn't know exactly how to control these powers that could lead to a sticky wicket indeed.

Write the story that you most desperately want to read.
The Cops
I could have dragged that out a bit longer but I knew I wanted to eliminate them as an obstacle so that Rachel can attempt to live a normal life. I'm not saying she won't have other problems down the road because there is still bad stuff coming.
Goth chicktastic
I forget, maybe I will have to reread it, but does Bart know who Rachel is? I can just see the fun that will ensue when ( not if) he starts trying to hit upon Rachel, it might be a bit messy :P.
Good to see this back, please continue.
The nature of Monkey is - Irrepressible!!!

Bart and Rachel
Yep. In the last chapter, Rachel tells Bart that she was Ryan, and Bart comes and helps her out of a jam.

I have to rein in
My own rampant imagination here. It is good that Rachel now has some allies, so she won't feel totally isolated from everything and everyone.
Bart hitting on his 'uncle', though Barbara isn't that technically any longer, was funny and did help lighten things up in both the previous chapter and in this one.
And yes, a mentor is definitely in order for Rachel.
Maggie
The Mentor
He will be coming soon and he will be someone from DC that some people might be familiar with...even though it might not be so clear the first time he appears. :)
Why not being completely honest?
I get that she doesn't yet know or trust Barbara, but hiding potentially dangerous info like to a superheroine who is already suspicious of her, it's asking for troubles.
Distrust
It goes both ways because clearly Barbara doesn't trust her either.
It's probably the cop in
It's probably the cop in her. :)
I don't know...
How she can go on after Katie's death.
I would be mess.
Peace!
Cindilee
Peace!
Cindilee
A Mess
I think she's probably going to be a mess for a while...but she's going to try to push through it, slowly at first but more steady later. Rachel will probably dip a little bit into the Emo stage, especially the way she's going to dress.
So, how does Barbara/Barry
So, how does Barbara/Barry eat in Barry mode, or do the mouths line up? I can't remember if they were about the same height. Inquiring minds want to know.
I hope that Barry can help Rachel solve the murders.
They are the same height.
They are the same height. Both are six feet even although Barbara weighs less.
