Danger! Danger!
Warning! This is a plot complication. Warning! This is a plot complication.
Dad and Mom... together at each other's throats! :)
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
Her reaction is not
Her reaction is not surprising, however, running off like that could be dangerous.....
Mark
But it's a Dark Realms requirement!
The leading character thinks they've been betrayed (rightly or wrongly), runs away from the situation without telling anyone else what they have just discovered, and ends up in a heap of trouble as a result!
(This is in the list of author requirements, right? :-) OK, maybe I'm teasing, but it's the one thing in this universe that frustrates me and everyone seems to do it!)
Oh, and keep up the great story! Thank you!
LOL
Its definitely a requirement actually. When authors ask to be in the DRU....I always tell them they have to have their characters run away from their problems instead of facing them head on ;) I know my characters tend to do it all the time lol.
Oh yes.
Cindy and Carmilla always run from their problems. Or is that to them? I forget.
Maggie
Hmmm...
I think Cindy runs to them, or just makes them as she goes. Carmilla, I think she's more of a calculating-type. A strategic retreat before moving in for the kill.
Drakira
Cindy, I can see her making them as she goes easily...
Carmilla, not so much. At least, in my opinion. I think she'd back off just enough to give one of her daughters enough room to swoop in from somewhere off stage and make the kill. It's pretty rare for Carmilla to act directly in a given situation, or so I've gathered. While the results are the same, the methods are different.
Danielle, on the other hand... Now that's a completely different animal.
Peace be with you and Blessed be
Nope. Cindy runs around and
Nope. Cindy runs around and around her problems until they get too dizzy to stand and fall down.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
Can't say I blame her either
What she did may not be smart, but given her abrupt change in sex and the resulting shocks she's had, I would have been surprised at any other reaction. But somebody, perhaps Grandfather, should keep a discrete eye on her safety and well-being. And "dear ol' dad" has a lot of groveling to do.

Emotional Tripwires
Yes, Mikaela has been through a lot, and has been tripping all over those emotional tripwires that were in her path. Also, someone will have an eye on her, don't know who, but we'll find out.
Drakira
charm bracelet
does it let her shift in clothes like the necklaces the Lockes have.
interesting development.
great job, thanks
Charm Bracelet
Looks like the evidence is pointing to it granting the same clothes shifts as the Locke necklaces.
Drakira
I was thinking she would be a were hawk as well
With mentioning the Were Hawks, I though Mikeala would be part hawk with the family name she was using but, she was a raven that was a nice unexpected twist.
"Cortana is watching you!"
WereHawk
Yes, Mikaela is a Raven and a Wolf. There is a Hawk somewhere out there, and they have their own story as well.

‹ Tell Me Your Secrets
Good chapter
++++++++++++
Cartman: A fine day of plundering we had boys. What about yourselves? Here you are lads, plenty of booty to go around. A round of grog for me boys. A round of grog for everyone!
It kinda makes sense to me...
But for some reason, I just can't bring myself to buy it just yet. It seems a little too convinent (if I spelled that right) and here's why I say that: What are the odds of his (now her) mother moving to the town that just so happens to be the same place that her ex-hubby/baby-daddy hails from? I don't know what math you all use, but unless someone is pulling some strings somewhere along the line, those are some long odds in my books. Then again, I've been wrong more often than I've been right about this kind of thing thus far. *blush* So who knows?
What is known is that this is another great chapter, Drakira. I'm looking forward to seeing how these events will pan out and what ends up becoming of the new lore keeper. ^^
Peace be with you and Blessed be
Clarifier
Mom didn't move to Ravencrest. It's more like she has taken a leave of absence from her work in California to help her daughter out. But, yes, things seem to have fallen into place rather nicely, to some extent.
Drakira
Many Universe's have their own math :)
I am a Battletech and Mechwarrior fan and in Battletech we deal with what we call F.A.S.A math when it comes to Battlemech weaponry :)
Hostile, you ain't seen hostile yet!
I met my own real father under similar circumstances when I was 27 years old. I don't remember him otherwise. That, after enduring years of abuse and hostility from my Stepfather. I so get her hostility, I so get it. She's entitled to being a lot more hostile than this too, thermonuclear hostile!
Gwendolyn
Thermonuclear hostile
I have to agree, coming from a similar circumstances. I can see why and understand why she is angry. Good chapter.
-Elsbeth
Is fearr Gaeilge briste, ná Béarla clíste.
Broken Irish is better than clever English.
Ravens
Just thought - since they're the eyes and ears of the lorekeeper, they've probably been around since the founding of the town. Although very few know about them, they did leave a clue in plain sight: Ravenscrest.
I suppose since their role in society is to be intelligence agents, it figures that they'd want to remain as secret as possible, as public knowledge (within Unseen society at least) could paint large targets on them. It'll be interesting to see if they amend their secrecy rule to allow mum in on it, or if she'll have to keep that knowledge secret from her.
Perhaps in time, we'll find out more about those chasing her - especially if they were also the same group / organisation responsible for the death of the previous lorekeeper.
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
The Name
The name of the town is per coincidence actually...as it was named after Jacob Ravencrest, a Wizard, not a Were. I'm sure the humor was not lost on him though :)
Mikaela needs time to digest
the information she was just given. I am guessing that this meeting was due to the fact that they were keeping track of her and rescued her from danger.
May Your Light Forever Shine
Trouble
She is going to run into some wolves.
hugs :)
