Remind me to never make her
Remind me to never make her mad.
The Fae have some really strange ideas of honor and friendship.
Overall, they are no better than what they portray many of themselves as animals. They care nothing for anyone else or anything else as long as they get their "fun". Strange indeed, and a very poor way to live life.
Yep
If you want to use Freud, the Fae are ID, they want instant gratification and don't care about much else except themselves. And humans who spend too much time with them go just as crazy. Alex is well down that path and going ever deeper.
Down the rabbit hole she goes....
Wow. Simply wow. She tries to fight one destiny only to be forced further towards it, it seems. Alex gets information then sends a message, but I hope the price to be paid for breaking the oath isn't worth the cost of enduring the mental torture from Paula...
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
Ain't seen nothing yet
There is still so much room for Alex to fall, what with dealing with Calandri, Paula, herself.
And then I get to start seeing if she can be redeemed.
Bad choices
I don't see Paula as the type to know when to stop pushing and making bad choices, so it will only get worse till she pushes too far and brings down her own end. The question will be how many others she will bring down with her.
Neither one
Knows how to back down at this point. Paula is too used to winning, and is a vicious bully. Alex has learned that yo survive violence and utterly destroying her opponent when you get the chance is the only option.
This is a blood fuel now.
I love this story
I love how twisted it is. To be strong yet still a slave. To wake up today with feeling that it might be the last day. Fight the impossible. Love it.
Thanks
I like this type of story, it pushes the person to the very edge and still gives them hope of surviving. Because she's fought the impossible and survived so far.
Paula WILL pay for what
She did one way or another. Her goons tried & failed to kill Alix but she beat them to a pulp. Told them to tell Paula if she wants to fight Alix do it her self or leave her alone.
Love Samantha Renee Heart
Alex can hope
If the lesson is learned she just has to handle Calandri, the monsters she has to fight, fae, staying at least a little sane, and whatever else comes up to bite her in the ass, or rip her throat out.
Survival
It's amazing what people will do to survive. But I think a lot of people underestimate their survival instinct. Even the meekest person can become a badass if pushed far enough and in the right ways.
I continue to enjoy this dark and twisted road.
Thanks and kudos (number 44).

I personally
Don't like stories where characters just roll over and die when things get hard, at least not for more then a temporary case of being overwhelmed. A lot of horror stories and TG humiliation stories annoy me because of stuff like that. I'd rather see the hero go down fighting and make the bad guys have at best a Pyrrhic victory then give up.
This story is all about pushing the absolute limits to survive.
Thanks
While I know that the Fae
While I know that the Fae often aren't logical, Calandri ought to be rather pissed at Paula for failing to teach Alex how to greet the envoy.
Yes, it got Alex in trouble. but Paula *really* wasn't thinking things through.

Say hello to patronage
You don't kick the Lady's pet, unless you want to bring down her wrath, so she has to go with the student too stupid to learn. We're going to see that soon.
And the next chapter will be up this week. Had a special project that took me away from my regular work for a while, and finally after two months, I'm breathing almost properly.
