It is excellent
Your story that is. Also excellent to see that you intend a book 3! Looking forward to that eagerly!
Thank you!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to writing it, as well as maybe some short stories to go along for the ride! :)
Revelations
Those are some serious revelations Sores is the archangel Camael who just happens to have been Gabriel’s bodyguard. I’m wondering what the relationship Gabriel and Amariel is that is probably going to take awhile for us to know. Also Azazel’s brother goes to Whateley and apparently Jordan is somehow the sister to the archon of chaos. She is I’m not sure about this part the daughter of El also. This story is absolutely amazing the hard part is waiting for the next part to come out

Revelations
All will be revealed... eventually! ;) Thanks!
Cosmic cheesecake
You deserve a cosmic cheesecake for that line. It gave me a very good laugh. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thanks! Hmm... first it was all about ice cream, now cheesecake... maybe I need to eat more desserts, the subconscious is being sneaky! lol
“Let them come and see.”
whoa ...
Matrix
I am suddenly picturing Keanu Reeves... :) Thanks!!
Lord this story is deep
I am anxiously waiting for more. Thank you so very much.
Thanks for reading!
Glad you're enjoying! Thank you!
Totally confused
about the ending.
First Whateley story i've read where the wrath of Carson seems inconsequential.
The prose was terrific in the story.
Don't worry
Things will get explained (eventually, heh) - especially when someone has to try to get Jordan to understand. :)
Just mag-ni-fi-cent.
It must take some doing, keeping the energy going over so many chapters. And it isn't over yet? That's so amazing to hear. I hereby award cheesecake.

Yay!
Thank you! But please, you must take the first piece! :)
A Privilege to Read.
It seems clear that there is a lot of background knowledge here that I do not understand. Yet, as far above me as it is, I still caught the basics of the story. I plan to do a lot of research now into early Christian and Jewish Lore. As far as I know there is little in Islamic literature that could be of benefit.
I only just became aware that there is a lot that would be pleasant and beneficial to know that is not taught to lay populations, and to me that feels almost like criminal neglect. I'm just pretty sure that the obscure works are not taught at the Bible School level. It seems that to read about much of this, one would need to be a very dedicated researcher.
I'm retired and quite curious about early history and theological matters. So there is lots of time perhaps to more fully educate myself.
Thank you so much for this lovely story.
Gwen
Thank you!
Thank you again! :) If you're interested, the list of books given Jordan in Into The Light would be a place to start. The book by Rabbi Kaplan, Inner Space, takes a bit to get through - it's amazing but is one of those where you read a paragraph and need to take a break and think about it for awhile before continuing. No matter how many times it's reread, there will always be more in there to find.
Read Into the Light through Light's Promise...
So I've read through Into the Light and Light's Promise. A bit of a rocky start that smoothed out once you got Jordan to Whateley. I caught the hints about Class X entities and can't help but wonder what Jordan and Sara would make of each other. My own feelings on angelic characters are complex and, though you seem to be addressing some of the things I take issue with, the subject of this isn't really the kind of story I'd generally enjoy. Not that there's anything wrong with the story, it's just not my cup of tea as a rule.
Thank you
Thank you for reading. Not all stories or themes are enjoyed by everyone. Religious subject matter is always tricky depending on the individual's experiences and while I'm drawing from the myths - both canonical and Apocryphal - where this story is going will be my own take / version as a way to explore the ideas hopefully in a new and (for some readers) enjoyable way.
Thank you
Wow, what a ride!! I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way.
I wait eagerly for book 3 to continue the journey...and Jordan's understanding.
Thanks!!
Glad you liked it! :) Ideas and scaffolding for the next book (and maybe short story) are in process, whether I should be thinking about 'em at the time or no, heh. How can one focus on work when there are stories to ponder and plot? Think of all the potential cliffhangers....
Thanks for the comment!
Can't wait for book 3..
Plz hurry.....
Suspense is eating me raw....
I read through both stories
I read through both stories today, and thoroughly enjoyed them both. I agree with Dr. Bender about the rough start then smoothing out. I have to wonder if this might be a better story if it wasn't a Whateley tale; the beginning with the mana bomb and the other stuff made it sound like a new universe, then it abruptly shifted to the MCO/DPA.
As for Alal - if that's the Chaldean Alal, shouldn't she be described as having _black_ hair?
Looking forward to the next tale, whenever you get around to it.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment! Alal's history will be revealed (eventually!); she can pretty much appear however she wishes. Her choice of hair color for these scenes is deliberate though. ;)
Thank you!
GREAT book(s) so far!! I have greatly enjoyed them. Can't wait to see what happened to Gabriel and Raphael and maybe some down time for Jordan with Zap and friends. I mean earlier I was expecting the 'Episode 8 swimsuit episode' (anime requirement) and instead got an ambush!? Although it was a great scene and setup everything else to spring forward. I look forward to reading more!!
You have to be yourself! You're the only one who can be...

Thanks!
Poor Jordan really hasn't had much time to relax, has she? :) Thank you for reading and commenting!!
Whoa, some smoking chapter
This entire story has been one thrill after another, and thought provoking. The subject matter within this story is one which can cause a good discussion or heated arguement. But regardless of individual philosophical views, one would be hard pressed to deny this is a smoking story.
The difference between Jordan and the other angels was her willingness to give the fallen a chance to be redeemed. T was the first to be cleansed, the angel at the fight for "The Book" another, even though that angel had been run through with a firey sword, and even after Jordan was told with callous words that no fallen could be redeemed.
What no one of the angels understood, but was written on Jordan's heart, those fallen had regrets which shined within them but obsccured because of the darkness which controlled them. They may have given into the cunningly worded words which made it sound good to serve the darkness, or put them into a position which provided little choice, however they succumbed they regretted their decision so after.
And it was this regret which provided Jordan the hope she needed to work her magic. A hope which seems lost by many of the other angels; they seem to only believe in the black and white of their understanding, whereas Jordan sees the entire spectrum.
Circe and Mrs. Carson are very proud of those students who stepped into the breach and saved those in need. But they could not let it be known just how proud they were or they would lose control and likely start a huge problem of resentment. The punishment given out had to be done, if for no other reason than to let the other students know they needed to think twice before wanting to do the same. Had Mrs. Carson had been truly angry over what Jordan had to do, Mrs. Carson would have done her best to put a stop to Jordan doing anything or leaving.
Mrs. Carson, Circe, and other staff members of the school, have seen to many needed times when it was the abilities of the student(s) which averted a catastrophe. So all staff involved knew those students involved in this escapade had to participate. Or else no one might have seen another sunrise.
There is one question which has been unanswered. When's book three being posted? Gotta find out what other evil Jordan illuminates, or angel she redeems. Or what other over eager moron thinks Jordan's ripe for the picking.
Others have feelings too.
Thanks!
Thank you for reading and all the comments! :) Book three will take some time to get done, hoping by end of summer or thereabouts depending on life and work. I may be moving mid-summer which might delay things a little bit, but hopefully not too badly!
A very powerful story!
I finally got to this point and am thrilled that there is to be more. You have an incredible creative mind and I've enjoyed all of your story thus far. It's also made me stop and think, which is always good. You are a gifted storyteller and I thank you for this work.
Suzij
Wonderful story!)))
Wonderful story!)))
Will there be a continuation? And if so when ???
Working on it!
Thanks! And Book Three is indeed underway! 88,000 words now and counting... Parts I-IV are drafted, V is in progress. It's just been one of the most hectic years I've had in a long time. We bought a house! Yay! But that meant a lot of time dealing with the move, then getting things repaired, painted, and decorated. And work decided at that point to switch from not enough contracts to oh-my-god-too-many. I want to get all six parts drafted then will go back to the beginning to polish and release each one. Hoping by end of summer to be able to start posting, which is much later than I'd originally hoped (sorry everyone!). But it is being worked on, just need to find the hours (and energy!) to get what's in my head onto the pages...
I kinda feel like ...
... I ran an emotional marathon by the time I got to the end of this book. But ... seeing Danielle recovered was definitely worth it. I'm glad Jordan was able to rescue more kids as well! I just hope maybe, sometime between this book and the next, she gets some time to relax, hang out with her friends, and snuggle with Khan. If anybody's earned some downtime, it's her. Thank you for sharing another amazing novel! I can hardly wait to start on the third one! :D
Glad you liked it!
And speaking of kitty snugging, one of our new kittens (who has grown omg so much!!) is lurking across my lap as I type this. He's adorable, even when lying here passing gas! (Phew!) :D
Awww...
Kitties are the best, even when they're bein' stinky butts. ;)
Oh, My Goodness!
How have I missed this work? Was I asleep? This is a MASTERWORK! An epic worthy of any fantasy, swords and sorcery novel ever written!
It has me totally enthralled and has earned a place among the best stories I've ever read, in my collection.
Thank you for posting this and for allowing us to experience it through your talent.

As a T-woman, I do have a Y chromosome... it's just in cursive, pink script.
Wow
Thank you so much!! I hope you like the next book too. :) And the one after that is in progress, a little over half of it is posted!!
- Erisian <3
I agree
with Catherine Linda Michel’s opinion – it is a masterwork! It’s like a fine wine or an outstanding dessert; I needed to savor it slowly and in small amounts while I completely devoured it.
Thank you for writing it!
Voldy
Aww
Aww, thank you for reading and commenting!! Always brightens my day! :)
So much done, yet so much
So much done, yet so much more to do. This story makes reading book three imperative. Still Awesome!
Thank you!
Glad you're enjoying! And yep, still tons to do!! :)
I'll add this to the end of
I'll add this to the end of "Light and Shadow" as well, but I wanted to emphasize something here.
“The great barrier is still intact and she is manifest as human. While you’ve opened passage for yourself, that path would be denied her.”
What this means is that Gabriel and Soren, along with Amariel, put a hole into the barrier, but it's Amariel shaped and sized _only_. She can freely pass the barrier, but is the only one to be able to do so. Raphael and Gabriel have passed information and communication through the barrier, but they have -not- crossed. Tsáyidiel and Kokabiel are linked to Amariel/Jordan, but they're still restricted to Earth and related dimensions. They can't actually return to the Throne, at least not yet. In fact, Tsáyidiel is more limited than Kokabiel, as he no longer has a physical avatar. He can interact with that which is not physical only, such as Gabriel's pocket dimension, because they aren't inside or outside the barrier, but separate.
In this case, his link to Amariel maintains him so he doesn't have to merge back into the Wheel as of yet. He might do so, of course, but it doesn't appear to be as necessary for those with their restored Word.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
“I have not lost any of those you gave me”
Seems to be Jordan’s motto. It’s a good one.
Isaiah is deep . . . I’m looking forward to finding out where he comes from in all this.
Azazel’s dispatch, after all of that buildup, felt surprisingly easy. A bit like the end of Time Bandits, where the evil one, having taken out each of the rag-tag bands of heroes, is swiftly eliminated by a grumpy old Supreme Being who shows up late, annoyed at being bothered, and docks the pay of his disobedient servants retroactive to the beginning of time. But I’m guessing that if Azazel doesn’t return, it just means that someone worse is on the way . . . .
Fabulous storytelling, Erisian. Just fabulous!

"Don't touch it! It's Evil!"
"Don't touch it! It's Evil!"
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
"Lasers, eight o'clock, day one!"
I would say all kinds of spoilerish things in response, but fortunately my hands are busy petting a kitty. While somehow also typing this using my toes...
Glad you've enjoyed, Emma! And I'm really looking forward to your discovery of what's to come!
And . . .
Digital watches!

I am rereading this series
because I realized I had missed a book, first time through I did not leave a comment on this chapter. It looks like Jordan is ramping up through the power ranks one level at a time and soon we'll be a powerhouse to compare to an Archangel. I shall see as the next section is unexplored territory for me.
Rankings
She indeed does keep ramping up throughout the series...much to her own unease. :)
(Sorry I missed this comment last July!!)
Camael
If Jordan is God’s mercy and Azrael is God’s judgment, is Camael God’s wrath? All overly simplistic, of course, but . . . their names, their words, are a mission. And each is distinct.
— Emma
Camael
Camael's name translates to 'He who sees God', according to most sources. Yet interestingly he also is the angel set over the Sefirot of Gevurah (Severity) in the Tree of Life according to Kabbalah, which is opposite Chesed (Mercy). :)
