I had a fantastic day yesterday, starting with a long booked appointment with my hair stylist. My stylist has been doing my hair for almost as long as I've been posting stories and is the salon manager - her booking diary gets very full so I book a month up front just to be certain. Oh, she has always written my appointments in the Ladies book.
She took a pic of me and, with my agreement, put it on the salon FB page.
I visited a few bars that afternoon, where I was known, and received plenty of positive comments (having been blonde* for many years). I had zero problems and enjoyed the day thoroughly.
Today I woke up to a PM from the stylist, a bigot had left a "vile" comment on the post that included my photo. That comment had been removed as soon as she became aware. She provided me with the name of that person, and I knew this person well (but definitely not a friend).
Oh well, you can't please them all.

“Let a smile be your umbrella.”
I have NO idea whom to credit for that saying, but judging by that picture you are LIVING IT. (And looking GOOD.)

Once in a while I bare my soul, more often my soles bear me.
Nor did I
... but I found it on Wikipedia. It's a song, music by Sammy Fain, Irving Kahal, and Francis Wheeler from 1927.

This also reminded me of "You're never fully dressed without a smile," a song from the musical Annie.

You look great!
I had decades of male pattern baldness and have hair dysphoria. After 5 years of letting it grow out, I’m starting to feel a little better about it. Thank God for wigs!

The nice thing
Is that your stylist has removed the vile post.
It is lovely that your friend is on side. Sadly the bigots will never be, but that is their problem, not yours.
Lovely style, by the way.

"Lately it occurs to me..
what a long strange trip its been."
Age is just a number
I'm currently 59 and will turn 60 in early December .... so I hope genetics have been kind to me? 18 months on HRT so far.
My stylist is called Tammy, but I was writing a certain Thurso based story before my first appointment with her about 13 years ago ... oh, she knew very early that I was a woman.
