For those possibly anxiously awaiting the concluding volume to the Light Saga, here's another update since it's been urmm, a goodly number of months...

The final book, Light of Heaven is 2/3 drafted, having just finished this morning the typing of the end of Part IV. Word count stands above 85k, with an expected 120k-135k finish if it follows in line with the others. At this point the draft has set the stage to avalanche towards the whirlwind expansive conclusion, though knowing how the muse likes to work I'm sure there are plenty of surprises waiting for discovery along the way.

Heck, she did that this morning out of left field to drop in something that, yet again, just had to be there in that moment because of course it did. Maybe this is why I've had such an aversion to even thinking of drafting anything out of order, as some sessions I swear I'm here to take dictation and make it readable.

The goal is to get the entire draft complete by year's end, and who knows, maybe earlier. Then editing and proofreading...and once it's all done and ready the chapters will start getting posted weekly. With the craziness at my work this year (and last), I don't dare attempt our beloved Emma's madness of signing up to weekly drops before the whole thing is in the can, edited, and blessed. This way anyone who starts reading will know for certain that it's all done. And this installment finishes the entire thing, and thus will end a ten year journey when those last chapters finally get posted.

A boggling concept, that.

Anyway, thought to pop this up to reassure folks it's still being worked, hasn't been forgotten, and still haunts my thoughts each and every day even while navigating the pressures of work deadlines amidst the insanities of our current world. Sadly the lotto plan still hasn't panned out, so apologies to those patiently waiting for when it'll be done.
