To anyone that follows my writing,
This year started out with a health scare that continued to get worse for me as time progressed. It’s been difficult to get creative when you’re worried if you even have another day or week.
Thank God for medical insurance because I would have been totally bankrupt after close to $300,000 spent so far on resolving my condition.
Long story short, my last round of COVID last year damaged my lungs and heart. Enough damage that my heart was close to total failure.
I’m on the mend now and finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I hope to get back to writing soon.
Take care of yourselves because you never know what’s around the corner.

I'm glad to hear you are on the mend Avia! I was wondering about you but I hadn't heard that you had been ill. Like you I have good health Insurance through my old union, the UMWA. My spouse was diagnosed with APL leukemia in 1994 & hospital bills for that were well over $200,000 back then. Health care costs are outrageous in this day & time. I'm glad that you're improving & hopefully you will make a full recovery soon! I love your wonderful tales but please take it slowly till you can gain your strength back!

I am one of many people who absolutely loves your writing - you are a brilliant storyteller. I have really missed your stories and can’t wait to read another one.
Having said that, I hope you recover quickly from what sounds like a horrible illness. Take your time and do whatever you need to get yourself well - your own health will always be far more important than our entertainment!

That's not a typo. I have enjoyed your catalog on this site, and have read all of them at least once!
I know what it's like to be on the health care rollercoaster, not sure of your future. I've had heart failure, remediated it with surgery, lived liked there's no threat, then had it reappear 10 years later, without the possibility of a surgical fix. Medications are now kicking in with some success.
Hopefully, you and your muse will rise out of this with new inspiration, and we'll all be here waiting for the result.
