What's the name of the one portraying to be a woman? It would be interesting to know how long they could live as man and wife. What did she like and dislike about living as a woman?
Jessica Connors
An interesting "voice"
This was a very clever vignette, because at the end I remained unconvinced by the principle character. There was something which she wasn't saying, which suggested that she actually was trans, but didn't want to say so. A fascinating insight into how we fool ourselves.
I also enjoyed the way that you have created the sentence structure in a way which reminds me of talking to my (German speaking) friends. Very clever.
"Lately it occurs to me..
what a long strange trip its been."
Repression
Repressed transgender feelings is a common thread in many of my stories and vignettes. I think it is even more difficult in a gay relationship where the fact of being a man is what attracted his partner to him.
I apologize for all of the errors in this story. I seem to have lost my proofreader. Bronwen Welsh seems to have disappeared and is not responding to emails. Does anybody know what has happened to her?
If she is no longer able to assist is there anybody out there who could step in? A warning - I am overly prolific!
