Recovery Part 16 (Final Chapter)

Clair’s farmhouse:
Sara shivers as a bad nightmare occurs while she sleeps. She sits up and screams as the person’s face she witnessed being murdered and tortured right in front of her appears in her dreams. She looks around the room in a daze when someone sits up next to her and holds her.

Jasmine had woken when she felt Sara sit up and scream out. For the past two nights, since they arrived home from protecting Victoria Wolfhart and finding out who sent her unit and Miko’s best friend into a trap, they had gone back home.

“Ssshhh, you’re safe, Sara.” Jasmine wrapped her arms around Sara and held her close.

She rubbed Sara’s back and let Sara cry against her shoulder. They had been informed by Carol about Sara’s situation and had discussed it. They were going to investigate the matter and apprehend the man chasing after her.

Sara slowly cried herself back to sleep. She feels Jasmine lay her down and hold her against her body. She felt safe sleeping with Jasmine.

Clair had contacted Nick and informed him about what Sara had told her. Since it happened in South Boston and Nick lived in Boston, she figures he could look into exactly what happened up there. She gave him every bit of information she learned from Sara.

Nick had informed her, once he knew more about the situation, to sit tight and be prepared to send Ada, Aly, Jasmine, and Miko up to Boston. He’ll contact Ankia and have her send some of her people to help out on this.

Clair went ahead and sent text messages to Ada, Miko, and Alya informing them that they might be going to South Boston to investigate what Sara told them. After sending the text, Clair starts doing some research into the killings Sara told them about.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Arlington, Va.:
Vicky rests against her seat as she and Tammy get ready to fly back to California. Tammy had to return to work at the hospital, and Vicky had gotten her discharge papers while she was in Washington, D.C. Her father had spoken to a friend of his in the Pentagon. They agreed that Vicky was no longer fit to serve in the military.

She had been given a medical retirement, with full benefits. She would have full medical care for the rest of her life and monthly retirement checks. She had been given a one hundred percent retirement rating because of her mental and physical injuries.

Vicky turns her head and looks at her best friend. “I don’t know what I am going to do now.”

Tammy looks at Vicky. “You could always go and work for your brother Andy at his Private Security firm. You know he would welcome your experience and training.”

“True, but I’m tired of fighting people. I’m considering just retiring for a while and relaxing before I do anything new.”

“I think that’s a good idea. Plus, you’ll have me to keep you company when I’m not working at the hospital.” Tammy leans over and kisses Vicky’s cheek.

A smile appears on Vicky’s face. She knew no matter what, she could always count on Tammy. She settles back in her seat as the private plane her aunt’s company owned and built taxis down the runway and lifts into the air. This plane was flying directly to California nonstop.

Tammy leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. She was glad that the general had been arrested and was being taken to a black-site prison in Saudi Arabia. According to Clair, Mr. Bounty, the gentleman Clair worked for, had an arrangement with the Saudi government. Clair didn’t go into detail about what the arrangement was, but she promised the general and his cohorts wouldn’t be seeing the light of day ever again.

She couldn’t wait to get back to California and back to work.
