Gordy just wanted a nice suitcase to go with his new job. He didn't plan on a whole new self to go with his suitcase.

Once in a while I bare my soul, more often my soles bear me.
Wouldn't we all? :)
The SuitCase came out of an online role-playing session with Jeremy Thompson years ago and we had a lot of fun with it. I wrote this story while we were gaming and finished it afterwards. It hadn't been posted anywhere till last year because it had been submitted to a print anthology project and it wasn't until the project finally fell through that I felt free to post it somewhere else.

Thank you
I appreciate that, especially from a perfectionist like you. :) The various typos I spotted on rereading really make me cringe, especially the misused commas.

It's official
I'm opening up the SuitCase as a universe for other writers to use.
Here are the rules:
1. The original story and myself must be credited at either the top or bottom of the text of any derived story.
2. The SuitCase can appear anywhere, any time or any universe. It is always slightly inappropriate for the time or place like a carpetbag in 1865 Georgia in day-glo colors. It can be found, gifted, bought or just appear. It's existence does not have to be sequential since it can move in time.
3. The operation of the SuitCase may be science fictional, magical, or unexplained.
4. The suits dispensed by the SuitCase are removable by design but circumstances or character choice may make them unremovable. There should be a time limit on how long they can be removed, but it's possible to dispense suits that automatically disappear or remove themselves. That could be embarrassing. :)
5. There should be some sort of advertising-type spiel associated with opening the SuitCase but it doesn't have to be audio-visual, it could just be a pamphlet or a disembodied voice or whatever fits your story.
6. The characters introduced by me in this story or subsequent ones by me are mine and can't be used by other writers without specific permission. Except the SuitCase itself and the unnamed manipulators of it's existence and the mechanical spielman, those can be used by anyone.
7. Characters, devices, worlds and situations created by other writers in SuitCase stories can be used by me and other writers in SuitCase stories if credit is given to their creators at either the top or bottom of the text of the derived story.
8. SuitCase stories written by me are copyright only by me unless I use a co-author. SuitCase stories by other authors are copyright by that author or suthors and by me, jointly.
9. No canonical SuitCase story can violate the laws of the United States or the laws of the residence of the author of the particular story.
10. Get my prior approval before posting any SuitCase story that involves abuse to a child or apparent child or contains extreme graphic depiction of violence. When in doubt, ask.
11. SuitCase stories may be posted to BigCloset, Crystal's StorySite, FictionMania, Sapphire's Place, the TGFiction mailing list or private webpages operated by the author of said story. Postings elsewhere by approval only. No SuitCase story may be sold or published in hard copy or to electronic media other than the World Wide Web except by approval from me.
12. SuitCase stories that are not TG can be posted to the Transformation Story Archive with a simple notice to me, no approval needed just for the posting.
13. I can amend these requirements at anytime and even require post hoc adherence to the amendments. I probably won't but I have to be able to protect myself, BC, and other writers.
14. SuitCase stories may be collected as e-books or print books by me with the permission of authors of included stories. Proceeds of sales of e-books or hardcopy will go to support BigCloset or another TG website.
15. Contact me by email at lainie_lee at yahoo.com. Don't forget the underline, lainielee is someone else. :)
16. Have fun and I'd love it if you sent me a copy of anything you write in the SuitCase universe.
Love,
Lainie
