Ooooh so good to have an update on this
So Bailey you really know how to please, this is a wonderful look into the psyche of a Martian here on Earth, and I like it. You can see the thoughts go through the head of and play out in the actions of your characters, a truly wonderful installment. Thank you Bailey.

Real or not?
Hmmm... Dylan is naturally empathic and I'm guessing Shy is as well? So, is it their empathy sparking off each other that forms the attraction or is it something more ordinary like love/lust? Shy seems a better fit personality wise for Dylan that Kaylee, so maybe that's it? Lots of questions but then this story has been about the mystery of Dylan's origins. Maybe that 'chat' with Jax might be a good thing after all!

There's definitely some empathic sparks going on.
Some of it's biology too with Shy being their peoples 3rd gender and Dylan being one of the 4th gender there's a biological thing going on as well as psychic where the 3rd and 4th sot of dovetail together more often than they do with members of the 1rst and 2nd genders. then there is a sot of complimentary personality thing happening too.

Shy has very limited telepathy but they're both empaths.
There's a big difference in the fact that Cheyenne grew up learning and living with her powers.

Yes, Cheyenne really doesn't want to get anywhere near
where it might seem like she might have been using her powers to effect Dylan or Dylan's relationship/s. Shy knows they will have to tell Dylan the truth at some point...but it's really hard not to fall for Dylan and the person they are.

Yes they are and restraint in this case can be torture.
Especially for Cheyenne who has all the information about what Dylan is and the fact that they like Dylan as a person has only made it harder because it's taking it passed the matched genders and the raw chemistry.

Interesting story so far, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this story, there's so much I want to know.
Is Dylan gonna consider using his/her birth name of A’shani I kind of really like it and I think it would suit him/her better too.
When will Shy come clean, leaving things will only hurt more, I got the vibe that when Dylan is thinking of Kaylee Shy was probing mentally and hurt by seeing how much Dylan likes Kaylee.
It might also help Dylan to know he/she is not alone and I think the family would take the news well, there's a lot of love in the family.
